Marksmen will no longer have their claim of being required for siege.
Instead we might actually see them labeled as OPTIONAL for late game hyper scaling damage.
Like it or hate it is opening up a part of the game that has been locked in for so long because only one class had what people considered good siege.

Fix towers and this meta and Ziggs will go away.
I'd rather they keep him mid anyway. His kit is balanced around tougher towers and his opponents having somewhat comparable waveclear.
If he does this he's guaranteed to snowball and that means he oneshots towers at an alarming rate.

There's a lot of variety in champs you can play mid, jungle, support, and sometimes even toplane, but the bot lane ADC is just always a marksmen.
I'd love to see a meta where a marksman is good but not necessary on every team. I'd love to see a meta where you can play different things botlane, and maybe have a marksman somewhere else.
But first I'd like to see a game where grouping 4 man bot, easy towerdives, easy first tower blood, and easy first dragon is not the standard play.

to be fair melee only includes tanks, fighters, divers, assassins.
while botlane isnt ranged lane, its an ADC late. its not a lane where any ranged can go, like assassins, mages, ADCs.

You take a ranged champion into Top lane to absolutely dominate the melee champs at all stages of the game.
It isn't hypocrisy, it is one type of champion being heavily favored in a match-up. Ranged champions have their place in Top but their strength needs to be toned down (Jayce/Kennen/Ryze etc.)

Tell your team a month ago, Hey, I'm going to play Ziggs Bot Lane. Even if you get a 70% win rate, imagine the violent flaming and maybe even reports you will get from your team during the 30% losses. Non-challenger players that attempt it will still lose that much because of pure mechanical mistakes or player error in other lanes.
LightSword3 votesI could be wrong, but I feel like the meta could shift towards occasionally seeing adc's mid lane, particularly those who are practically casters anyways (including those that have already seen an amount of midlane play), those with high wave clear, or those who are specifically safe.
Just because the bot meta is shifting to maybe have a non-adc botlane meta, doesn't mean adc's will be completely unplayable.

Oh it definitely does, like quinn for example who got her whole kit nerfed once she was actually good top lane.
Im fact im surprised riot is taking so long to nerf kennen and jayce (those are actually overpowered im not saying they arent and they do deserve nerfs).

do you understand the difference between melee only and ADC only?
bot lane isnt a ranged only lane, its an ADC lane, and ADC are mandatory in all games.
while top might be melee only, melee spans a number of classes including tanks, fighters, assassins, divers...
meanwhile ADC spans one class, and its really fucking annoying seeing them every game since season 2 when this BS meta started.

Mizaya2 votesBut it's a natural monopoly. Bot lane XP is limited and the most efficient gold distribution of farm is to only 1 champion. Having a highly XP dependent champion to replace adc which is a natural fit... spells a few problems if you ask me.

He still builds AP but due to one of his abilities being able to destroy turrets that are below a quarter health he is able to effectively apply extra pressure and often get first turret gold for his team.
