Sorcerer's have too much mobility options

Sorcerers are suppose to be focused around spellcasting and far less on mobility. Champions like Master Yi and Fiora and many Marksmen needed that mobility far more since they need to stick to their targets so they can land basic attacks while champions like Brand, Malzahar, Xerath and other mages rely on their abilities to do the job and it does not require them to have extra movement speed

For instance why would Xerath even need Nimbus Cloak to gain extra movement speed when he uses Rite of the Arcane that will make him stationary and become siege unit relying on landing AoE from huge distance?

On other hand Fiora for instance need that extra movement speed so she can pop the Vital points on the enemies and lets say Master Yi needs also movement speed cause if he cant stick to his target to land basic attacks he does absolutely nothing.

I think Precision suppose to have most mobility options of all the rune trees since its focused around agility and sustain damage from basic attacks thus you need to be able to stick to your target. If you cant stick to your target you are doing nothing

i think youre making the mistake in thinking that rune pathes are bound to certain types of champions, like sorcery would be made for ap scaling mages.

while its true that certain rune pathes tend to favour specific champion classes, their purpose is to support different playstiles.

precision is supposed to support sustained damage patterns. typically this includes marksmen, but also ap carries like Azir or fighters like Olaf or Udyr or Jax

domination is supposed to improve target access and burst patterns. while assassins tend to like the path more than a lot of other classes, it can also include burst mages with electrocute, or even champions like Garen with predator.

the same is true for sorcery. it can be picked up by assassins, mages, skirmishers or fighters, depending what theyre looking for. sometimes youll see tanks like Sion with arcane comet.

if you want to preserve the sustain damage you need to be able to stick to your target. If you cant stick to your target and they just walk away (yeah exactly just by walking and not using any special ability for that) you are doing nothing. In that case you need mobility option that allows you to stick to your target so you are able to land those attacks

my point was that not only ranged, ap scaling mages pick sorcery.

but also fighters and assassins who need the mobility to stay in melee range and stick to their target.

Garen for example is as much as a caster as a mage, and sometimes can pick phase rush in certain matchups, where you need the extra movement speed and slow resistance to either stick to your target, or disengage.

Thats why they pick Precision tree as mobility option - to stick to their target for sustain damage. In order to have that sustain damage you need mobility that benefits your sustain damage

they dont. not every rune supports every champion.

how does revitalize or font of life help garen, even though theyre in resolve? how do aftershock or guardian help him for that matter?

I would give 1 second stun on Garen's Q to benefit from that since he is suppose to be tanky champion. His W is a pure tank ability so having aftershock would probably benefit Garen quite alot

But I would like to point out that I am running runepage called Speedster that have all the mobility options from SORCERY and DOMINATION trees for Master Yi. You think that makes sense?

if you want to improve sustained damage patterns, youd go precision. (means to deal more auto attack damage on yi)

if you want to improve target access, youd go domination/sorcery.

as ive said. both trees are in the same awkward spot, that they essentially have the same identity.

So according to your logic having shit tons of mobility in Sorcery is completely fine and when a target walks away without using any mobile abilities from sustain damage dealer is also fine

however, i do agree that sorcery and domination suffer from an identity crisis. at this point, it seems like both rune pathes are a mix of burst and mobility runes.
