There should be a requirement to play a few Normals if you've been gone a long time

Played a game with a Sivir who fed our lane. His excuse was that he hasn't played League in 2 years and just started back up yesterday. "I don't know what Pyke does." Obviously he never figured it out from our explanation or learning from several deaths.

Feels natural that if you've never played a game for, say, a certain number of months like 6 months, or certain number of patches, you should be required to play some Normals before jumping into Ranked. That won't solve everything, but maybe 15 Normal matches or something would help get acquainted with the current champions and meta.

you should have to pay 20 dollars to login to the game and then have a minimum of 1 million mastery points on a champion before you can play against bots. then once you hit 3k games you can play normals. ranked only exists for previous world champions.

^Should also be a 3 digit IQ requirement to use forums.

So nobody is allowed to use the forums?

You just implied that everyone on the boards has below-average IQ since 100 is defined as the average.

Good job.

Yes, therefore nobody is allowed to post here. Either way it won't change the quality of the posts on the boards.

thought the average was about 110 but the numbers are weird

a lot of people don't put much stock in the "IQ" factor anymore as well because unless you have the results printed out and ready to show from an official organization...it's just a lie waiting to happen

for example, I can't even remember what my results were when I was tested. the numbers that pop into my head are 113, 137 and 173

agreed. I just had a Kassadin single-handedly lose us the game because he hadn't played since season 6, and he "didn't know what Zoe or Camille's spells did". When I asked him why he was playing ranked, he replied "normals are too easy."

He proceeded to go 1/10 in lane, all the while saying "wtf 2 flashes".

well, it also goes to show how willing Riot can be to "bend or break" their own standards to "keep things interesting" or "fun to play"

pretty sure these people were trolling though

Riot thought that people would actually practise in normals before going in Ranked if they haven't played for a while. Oh boy how wrong they were.

Its more important to police people telling others theyre bad, or telling them to shut the fuck up so it looks like theyre doing something, than to curb the behavior that makes others actually rage at people... like first timing, or playing ranked after missing a dozen patches...

You do realize it takes time to type a rage comment in the chat right... or pretty much any kind of lengthy comment..... sou you have to actually take the time to do so..... I mean get what you are saying but you do not have to type in the chat.

I agree that chat isnt needed, for the most part.

Still, it may be necessary to chat. One example is someone who has decided to play ranked and missed several patches and doesnt know what Pyke does.... or that an items function has been changed, that sort of thing. You cant ping "pyke is a hook based support with a resetting execution ult."

So assuming everyone knows what the current game state is... youre correct, you dont have to chat..............

But the topic is about people coming back to the game after missing several patches. I had mentioned first timing there also. Both are players greifing others with their ignorance, expecting them to suffer the feeding they do because they dont know whats even happening in some cases.

So while it "takes time" to type a rage comment, it takes time to sit through 25-30 min match of wasted time cause someone doesnt have the decency to not make others suffer... Im suggesting that Rito putting effort into punishing people who yell at others is merely an effort to make it look like theyre doing something.

After all, if they punish people enough for yelling at trolls, then people stop yelling at trolls... If no one is yelling at trolls, then there must not be any trolling... Look, Rito fixed trolling....

Yes I get your point..... but that is why their is a report function after the game. Besides there is not much they can do about someone coming back to the game after a while. I mean personally I read through changes if I am coming back to the game aft er a while. But then again even when I am not playing I keep b ye watching pro play when the splits are going on or watching streamers from time to time to keep up with any changes. Also yelling at trolls does not fix their behavior any way.... at least in my experience it just makes them happy they are getting attention and they keep doing whatever it is they are doing.

Yes, the one they use to punish people who yell at trolls.

You didnt read the suggesions by the OP clearly, go back and read about forcing people to play x games after missing say... 3 patches, or some number... That could be done...

I mean personally I read through changes if I am coming back to the game aft er a while.

Irrelevant, pointless statement... I dont murder people, some do... its for the few who do things like that we have rules/punishments for.

But then again even when I am not playing I keep b ye watching pro play when the splits are going on or watching streamers from time to time to keep up with any changes.

Again, pointless... what YOU DO isnt what others do. If youre not causing a problem in matches with failing to keep up with changes doesnt mean others arent. This is about the people WHO DONT keep up... not you, not everything is about you, and what you do or dont do. Its for those who arent you and the things they do that this topic is about. Try to understand that.

Also yelling at trolls does not fix their behavior any way.... at least in my experience it just makes them happy they are getting attention and they keep doing whatever it is they are doing.

While thats probably true, it doesnt mean that a significant shift in their behavior hasnt moved into doing their trolling and baiting in chat so they can try to get someone to say something to get them punished. Its not like the shift to punishing people for yelling at trolls has cured trolling, its just punishing the victims of the trolls who call them a piece of shit for trolling....
