It makes me so sad that they have to make a champion like azir and taliyah so fun to play and then they have to nerf them overboard for lcs x.x Taliyah and azir are literally unplayable in soloque. I know they have to for lcs but i enjoy both of those champions so much yet both of their winrates are 43% and under =\

Is her winrate really that atrocious? I haven't even played her this patch yet because I was afraid to see how bad they butchered her. Her late game has always been ass, and now that her early game got wrecked, I just can't see her being a viable pick anymore. [zombie-nunu-bummed]

edit: just checked out lolking, in higher elos she went from a 7-8% playrate with an average winrate down to 1% with around 40-43% winrate. Rito plz.

Riot wanted to make a zone control mage. Which they did. Except her Q farm WG lasted too long. So they reduced the CD on that and gave her some hotfix buffs she needed because she was awful on release.

But then they remove W lockout and change to vector cast and encourage a burst mage playstyle.

And then they add bonus damage on Q for waveclear mage style.

And then they nerf her to the ground because she did well in LCS. Gee, I wonder why. Couldn't quite possibly be removing the very restrictions that balanced her, could it? Or repeatedly changing around her focus?

yeah, honestly I had no problem with how she was originally, pre-vector cast W. I'm part of the seemingly minority of people that prefer vector casting over the old casting style, but I never had a problem with the lockout, and knew that was what helped keep her balanced. I predicted it way back when they first announced they were changing W to remove the lockout that it was going to cause them to nerf her into oblivion. I'm just hoping after worlds they can bring her back to a decent state.

Literally my only grievance with the vector casting method in itself is that it won't start the 1s CD until you drag and let go, which adds an unavoidable human delay, which feels terrible for an ability where timing it with another is crucial.

Other grievances in general is the dot indicator instead of the circle, buggy issues when casting at/near/past boundaries of cast range, and loss of vertical knockup.

And this is why we can't have high skill cap champions. They are too strong in competitive and useless in soloQ. Taliah is balanced. If you can't play her like the pros, well, these people do this for living...

But when Azir is even close to viable he DICTATES the meta. Then twitch chat is flooded w/ "ResidentSleeper Azir again ResidentSleeper"

I'm actually interested to see what the Worlds playing field looks like... ALL of the major players have seen significant nerfs. I'm not even sure Rek'Sai will see play because those armor nerfs were attrocious.

The difference between Azir and Taliyah is that Azir lacked counterplay from the very start. His kit was inherently overloaded. Taliyah on the other hand had her kit broken by Riot and the community. Lockout being removed just threw her kit into shambles. The only thing that stood out was her lack of counterplay and insane shove & roam playstyle through the bonus damage on Q and her ult.

Yay now Azir Vladimir and Taliyah can party together as the champs so overpowered in pro play they cannot exist for noobs like us.
