To be fair; Rylais and Protobelt are going to have a rather healthy "rivalry"

Both are low Cost "Core" Items for certain champions, providing on spell slows or mobility. With both being rather slot "inefficient" come late game champions are going to have to choose between getting either Rylais or Protobelt if they want to achieve their late game fantasy; Meaning they'll have to decide which effect benefits their kit more; A low CD dash will be great for those flashy engage spells like Slicing Maelstrom or Summon:Tibbers while Rylais will be better for the sustained damage dealers who need to stick rather than get ONE big burst/spell out as soon as possible.

It's actually a great way to balance the item niche and make champions make a conscious choice.

I'm actually totally fine with that tbh.

I mean in a way protobelt scales better then some past rush items that were poor late game stats because it scales with your ap, not sure why everyone views as such a burden to have lategame. It'll be interesting though if the two items manage to hold similar popularity in the idea that you should only get one but how do you decide which?

because once you reach mid plat + games are over by 16~24minutes with no turn around and no chance for that late game scaling veigar to succeed.

Yo man I just want my easy bronze wins all right? Though I've never played with anyone that wasn't some low quality metal, wouldn't protobelt help make early plays and provide some good utility to turn the game early on? I mean say your lane opponent was going for RoA and you went protobelt. They probably have either item 3010 or item 1026 and a ruby or sapphire crystal. With about that same gold you'll have item 3145 which adds some nice burst to your autos and maybe play a key role in your burst combo.

No more Ahri's with 3674 health, 125 Armor, and 500 AP with full build plz.

(doesn't help that we were all AD and for the most part forgot our Last Whispers and Lethality items)

I mean it is, he's quite possibly the only champion without a gapcloser or any form of cc within his kit. I mean maybe that speed boast counts to some people but comparatively darius has cc at the least, illaoi has length on her autos and a slow on her e, and garen's q speeds him up in a noticeable fashion.
