why can a tank do so much damage and still be unkillable

Hahahahyena··2 votes·3,615 views

"Mundo goes where he pleases" becasue all he does is throw cleavers and catches up to you "dodge the cleaver" with it being on a 4 second cooldown sure you can dodge one cleaver but can you dodge a barrage of them, he will hit one of them. "dont stand by him" how can you not stand by him when he has a slow and a movement speed boost "ignore him, kill the others" how can you survive his insane damage while being unkillable "run away form him" again... how "he doesnt do that much damage" with cleavers target percent health damage and e doing HIS PERCENT MAXIMUM HEALTH yes he will hurt "if youre playing a squishy of course he will hurt" but why can a tank 1v1 an adc, like how is that even fair with a tank building TANK and an adc building DAMAGE????????? "youre salty arent you" yes i am because riot doesnt know how to balance their game

DrMundo Mundo make players think he is a tank when is really a fighter.

Thresh "That's nothing. Two years later and I people still think I'm a melee champion!"

The amount of times I have seen bug reports complaining that Thresh doesn't proc the execute on Relic Shield...

Ralanr1 votes

Didn't he used to be?

His AA's are odd.

EndlessSorcerer1 votes

He's never been a melee champion.

When Relic Shield was originally released, the execute occurred on both melee and ranged basic attacks. That lasted about a patch (both ADC and support were buying it, teams would have no jungler and two top laners) before being removed.

Thresh does have a different autoattack animation when the enemy champion is really close (holding the hook when he hits them instead of swinging the chain), but that's only a difference in animation.

Then why can't he buy hurricane????

Riot screwed up the tagging system a bit when they revamped it. I honestly thought it would have been fixed by now.

The ADC is building offensive items to increase the damage they deal.

Tanks are building defensive items to decrease the damage they take.

They pretty much nullify one another.

The part of the equation that many people willingly ignore: Why do you expect to survive against a tank when you only have your base defenses?

Even ff the tank hasn't built offensive items, why do you expect to survive against their damage if you haven't built defensive items?

but a tank isnt suppose to deal heavy amounts of damage, lifesteal is basically suppose to keep an adc alive for a tank's damage

EndlessSorcerer1 votes

Tanks don't deal heavy amounts of damage; if you ever see one tank fighting another late-game, then you can easily see that they are basically slapping eachother with styrofoam.

In comparison, ADCs do deal a heavy amount of damage; if you've ever seen one ADC fighting another late-game, then you will typically see one of them die within 4 autoattacks.

Tanks can deal decent damage to ADCs because ADCs don't have defensive items.

Lifesteal is useful to survive against tanks for a longer period of time but it won't automatically win you the fight. If they have Thornmail to counter your sustain, then it's pretty much an issue of who kills the other first.

He does significant amounts of damage because he contributes shitty utility. He gets to be tanky with reasonable damage because every cc tank has way, way more utility and cc than him. It is a perfectly fair design.

EndlessSorcerer2 votes

Mundo is a fighter anyways, not a tank, for the exact reason you stated; he's all damage and no utility.

Hahahahyena1 votes

it doesnt even make any sense though if someone is going to build tank let them be tanky but if someone is going to build damage let them hurt but being tanky and dealing massive damage doesnt make any sense whatsoever, i can deal with low scaling damage like rammus's basic attacks scaling off of a percent of his armor and malphite but mundo just destroys

Ralanr2 votes

Because Mundo is a fighter with damage that scales off of his health.

Sightless663 votes

No, it makes perfect sense. He doesn't get all the initiation, CC and utility tools they get, but instead he gets access to damage. That damage can be countered due to his reliance on staying in melee range for long periods of time with no real engage tools. If he didn't deal damage, he'd be worse than every real tank because they have many, many tools that he doesn't. End of story.

Simply put, if he didn't deal damage, he'd be completely worthless because damage is the only thing he actually does to enemy champions. His durability wouldn't mean anything if he didn't hurt.

You don't like the idea of a tanky champion that does damage, but that's because you're making a false dichotomy of "tanky or damaging". There are tons of ways to have a champion that is tanky and deals damage, so long as they don't have the advantages that other tanky champions have. If you actually look at what his kit has and what it doesn't have, his tools are perfectly fair. He's overtuned right now and that should be fixed, but that's just a numbers issue.

ban him

Mundo's a stupid champion. Boring to play as. Unfun to play against.

Hayaishi21 votes

Mundo problem is not doing damage, is being unkillable.

Tank + Damage is fine when you make shit like Darius

Hahahahyena1 votes

at least with darius he doesnt have a long range ability and doesnt run at you at the speed of light

Big Lincoln1 votes

Because Mundo exists solely to stack health and let his base damage make him useful?

item 3033 [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Hahahahyena2 votes

literally doesnt even scratch his balls, ive tried it and does nothing

Ralanr1 votes

Don't let him run.

Hahahahyena1 votes

yes, just make a whole team comp full of roots stuns and silences so he doesnt cast an ult that is like 30 seconds on cd

Ralanr1 votes

You should always have at least one source of hard CC on your team anyway. Otherwise champions like Master Yi have a field day.

Hahahahyena1 votes

any type of hard cc will destroy yi but mundo will just laugh in your face if you think cc will kill him

Ralanr1 votes

Well you can't let him get away since he'll just regenerate all that health back. You can't burst him because being tanky counters burst.

Every time I've faced him we CCED him down and unloaded a bunch of damage on him. As long as he couldn't run away then he was doomed.

People don't really value healing reduction.

Should considering altering the wording when explaining it to such people: "Grievous Wounds deals true damage equal to 40% of the amount a champion heals while applied."

Might get people to actually buy the item. :P

I saw a top vayne lane against a mundo, and they were pretty even, and eventually, they got into a one v one fight, and mundo won, barely, then i told this vayne to get an executioners calling, saying "it'll help with those one v ones" she didn't, she kept barely losing to mundo.

Ralanr1 votes

...Was the Vayne toxic by any chance?

Average games played is like 14 and still has one of the highest win rates in the game. But, yeah...downvote the thread calling out the balance abomination and keep collecting that freelo.
