That short delay to Lux's W shielding herself? Yeah, that got me killed 3 times in one match...

Lux's W has about a 0.2 second delay before she actually gets a shield that, in one of my more recent Lux games, got me killed 3 times because the shield took too long to form on me. Yeah, that's just full of suck right there.

Riot, can you remove that little delay as a QoL buff? Lux shouldn't have such a huge disadvantage in shield timing compared to, say, Karma or Janna, at least in terms of shielding HERSELF.

It just takes practice. In my personal opinion, I don't see them ever adjusting Lux.

Mana regen was lux's only friend. The nerfed that to the ground and now she is basically nothing unless fed. (which is practically impossible to get)

Indeed. Riot, lower Lux's E mana cost while you're at it.

Aren't there supposed to be lag problems with league right now? Idk it could be that

darkdill1 votes

It's not that. Lux has always had a brief delay before she gets her shield on herself, and that delay is just stupid.

Doesn't the shield refresh once it comes back to you...?

Wrong timing. I'm talking about when you first cast the spell, it gives you a shield as it flies out. That FIRST shield often comes too late.

Yeah I know what you mean. But if you really want to compare it to other people's shields, you gotta account for the fact that Lux's, at least, shields twice. But I can sympathize with you on the whole "split-second shield" failure. I've saved my life many times with quick shielding, so I guess I can understand how Lux having a slight delay might be frustrating.

Granted, but Lux's shield is worse against burst attacks than, say, Janna or Karma, in that it shields less per shield. So while it's better against an Ignite or Malzahar, it's way worse against assassins or burst casters, which are more likely to bust it.

Lux's shield isn't really very good at shielding her specifically. It is a team-shield. I personally like how it is. Very unique. But the delay you mention is a bit annoying.

Lux's shield isn't really primarily designed to be a self shield. That's more for saving allies than anything.

With the tools she has to snare and slow enemies, I can't think of too many situations where Lux should need an *instant *shield.

Here's one scenario: I flash away from Tristana (who jumped at me), try to shield, but her autoattack hits me first and kills me even though I pressed W before the shot hit.

Should I have been killed because of a shield delay? I don't think so.

That was a Tristana, and a flash would not have taken you out of her range if she rocket jumped directly on top of you. Shield or not, you were probably a goner. I'm assuming this was fairly late game where an AP caster with 0 armor is going to be dead in about three autoattacks.

One neat trick is knowing that Tristana's rocket jump is merely a fancy dash. If you tossed a snare at her while she was jumping at you, she'd get sucked right to the ground.

It was actually during mid-game when that happened, and I had a Zhonya's because there was a Zed. And before you ask, Zhonya's was on CD.
