What if we had an extra item slot for Pink Wards?

Buying item 2043 mid/late game is a real pain, because either your inventory is occupied by many small components or you're full build. The problem could be solved just by making an 8th item slot for pink wards only, just like the 4th one is for trinket only. _ Edit: 1- Many of you suggested to bring item 3362 back. Imo, it's not the best choice: with Green Wards being deleted from the game, the only way to get a good ward coverage for laners is item 3340 or item 3363; on the other hand, clearing wards is more important than ever, therefore roaming champions really need to have item 3341 or item 3364; lastly, you have to factor in that item 2043 costs only 75G now and it's not worth as much gold as your trinket for the aforementioned reasons. 2- the player "Slamurai Jack" pointed out that Riot stated they want us to have less vision. But, imo, balancing the vision game around item slots isn't the right choice, because there's no good reason to be punished for having a full inventory. If we ended up having "too much vision", Riot could compensate by lowering the amount of stealth wards on the map per player from 3 to 2._

Ripitem 3362

item 3362 wouldn't be that good right now, imo. item 2043 costs only 75 G and you would lose the ability to have 3 wards on the map (since you can't buy Green Wards anymore).

it would be too op, i think that if they ever created something like this they'd need to remove it

Riot's already made it pretty clear they want less vision in the game than previous seasons. 5 pink wards for each team at all times would go against that pretty heavily.

I think the blue trinket pretty much proves that wrong. A winning team with proper blues will have insane vision.

You'll notice they just nerfed that trinket pretty hard, and I wouldn't be surprised if more nerfs followed. And generally speaking, blue trinkets help the losing teams more than the winning one. Invisible vision is infinitely preferable to blue wards and while winning teams can more easily defend their blue wards, they also tend to be in much better position to set up stealth wards in the first place.

I understand this, but they shouldn't balance the vision game around item slots. Having your inventory full shouldn't lower your ability to contribute to team's vision. I'd rather have them lower the amount of stealth wards on the map per champion from 3 to 2 in exchange for the ability to store Pink Wards in a specialized item slot.

That's exactly what it should do. Invisibility champs are already hurt a lot late game because everyone is grouped all the time; giving each team 5 pinks at all times would make them completely worthless. Riot isn't stupid; they balance the game they way they do for very specific reasons.

But you can already have 5 pinks at all times on the map. Saying that the balance is reached by preventing players from buying pinks because their inventory is full is ridiculous: keeping an empty space in your inventory isn't a healthy mechanic, it's just bothersome. It stops players from having better stats and/or activated item effects even when they could afford them. It's a poorly designed counterplay, because no matter what you choose, you end up getting hurt anyways.

You could just not buy pink wards. Most of the time, an Oracles will fill your stealth detection needs just fine. The only exceptions I can think of where this isn't true is against the champions that can go invisible in the middle of combat in order to drop focus. You still see where they are with Oracles, you just can't target them. Sounds like the perfect place for champions with revealing abilities to come in.

Just give us item 3362

Why not let us sell our trinket and then let us put a pink ward there instead (since they seem to not want us to have a trinket that does that)?

...

That's not a terrible idea either.

Gankers can't allow themselves to sell their item 3364 and laners can't allow themselves to not have 3 wards on the map at any given time.

Or we could make the trinket not complete shit because of morons that didn't use it. They literally fucked over yellow trinket because people wouldn't upgrade it. Those people STILL don't ward, yet the ones that did upgrade and use it now have a stupid trinket. Combined with the fact that we can't by green wards. You will have a max of like 2 wards on the map half the time, 1 the other half. And that's if you place your pink ward in a place that they won't find...because that's useful.

Or, they changed yellow trinket because it was broken whether people realized it or not. Riot's already shown that they balanced based on their own data and not community opinion, and they knew what many people here also knew: Upgraded Stealth Totem was the strongest item in the game by far and blatantly overpowered.

It would be a huge nerf to stealth champs in team fights that everyone can hold a pink ward at no cost to them.

Or just...you know...A universal consumable slot...Maybe those fancy new potions that refill sometimes could go there too...maybe...

XIII Vanitas1 votes

Refillable potions give you statistics, pink wards don't. I've never understood why some players are asking for a separate item slot for them, since their power falls off mid game and there's no reason at all to hold them late game.
