Either it's a team game or you have to solo carry, make up your mind.

So i've seen post saying "Your individual performance should determine how much LP you gain/Lose" and people reply with "It's a team game, so your overall win or loss as a team should determine that." then i've seen post that say "My team is causing me to lose." and people reply to this with "Well you need to be better, it isn't your team it's you."

ok, so, if I do bad, it's my fault my team loses, because i wasn't helping to carry. but if i do good, and my teammate does bad then it's still my fault my team loses, because i couldn't make up their slack? well what about my teammates not picking up my slack when i'm doing bad?

It is either a team game or a solo carry game, it CAN'T be both. make up your mind.

if it's a solo carry game, then individual performance should definitely be what determines LP Gain/Loss, if it's a team game, then we need to stop being punished for having bad teammates.

seriously, people need to make up their mind.

wut? "if it's a team game we should not be punished for having bad teammates" "if it's a solo carry game then individual performance should be what determines LP gain/loss"... you do know that you pretty much said the same thing for both situations right? [sg-lux-2]

You are missing the problem. Wins and losses are the best measure of individual performance. Your lp gains and losses are already defined by the beat measure matchmaking has for your individual performance.

Okay, so let's clarify here. It's a team game, so you don't necessarily deserve to win just because you performed well personally, if you are not able to use that to help your team work together towards victory. But... if you're losing consistently, the only part of your team that doesn't change from game to game is you... which means there is most likely at least SOMETHING you are doing to cause the loss.

Edit: And since you're going to whine about me not 'answering your question'... it's a team game. However, it offers enough agency that 'carrying' is possible.
