most of the intresting supports cost to much IP

and all options that cost reasonable amounts of IP are either terra-bad or boring

lets look shall we

support champions that are 3150 IP or less (also theres karma,nunu and i think kayle but they are not supports anymore)

support champions that are 4800 IP or more

(<kinda) (<not really a support but i tried it and its VERY fun)

as i see it, all except zilean, and Alistar on the prior list are either crap or completely uninteresting.(taric is a big ? till his re-work hits the mainland)

and on the other side all of those besides nami seem/are fun as hell to play.

but this is just my opinion, if you find some that are boring or some that aren't, but im just guessing in general the more interesting supports are on the other side of the IP fence

and i dont really think "because their newer" is a good excuse i mean it has some merit but still,theres really so little that interests me about the lower brackets of costed supports(besides zilean)
