I actually have done significantly better with reworked Vel'koz. I think he's much stronger overall. You just gotta play him correctly.

That can mean a lot of things, but it certainly doesn't mean the rework was a failure.

• If 2% above average didn't mean he was OP before, 2% below average doesn't mean he is UP now either.
• People may need more time to adapt to changes. He's also getting numerical buffs right now. The dip is probably only temporary.
• With the added exposition of the rework, more people try him, and more people playing a champ very often decreases his winrate. The mains that used him before are maybe still at 52%, and all the noobs trying him at 44%, for all we know.
• Winrate is not relevant to judge a rework. A rework is not intended to balance an unbalanced champ, it is intended to make a champ more interesting and healthy in the long run.

Think its gonna get buffed next patch.

A lot of these mid reworks have been absolutely unnecesarry.

Even though very season they leave some blatantly overpowered crap in the game. Last season it was sejuani who was broken overpowered for like 8 patches, now this season its Ekko. That does affect games more than anything else.

Just asking so don't mash the downvote just yet...

Can it be because Vel'koz is now a dedicated frontline melter rather than a teamfight monster?

adc mains didn't ask for graves to be reworked, now he's not even a botlaner.
