as expected, ARAM accounts are ruining ARURF

Very Hard Engage··75 votes·5,080 views

i told riot they needed to unlock all champions, but did they do it, no, instead we get the crap storm that we have now.

urf, ruined, never again, id rather it stay dead in the dirt than come back as this garbage.

win/lose is completely subjugated to which champions you own, who you get grouped with, and pray no1 dodges when you do get a good champion.

0 skill, not fun.

worst URF ever.

Great, I used to play ARAM for a quick game before bed until I got annoyed by the over abundance of ARAM accounts; and now they have spread their plague upon URF. Fantastic, marvellous, wonderful!

I was looking forward to fun on League this weekend but I guess I'll need to befriend RNG-esus first.

Y'all act like URF was the best thing ever. Played it a few times and it's utter garbage since everyone is just picking the same ridiculous champs over and over again. I guess it's so popular because bad players can finally feel good by trashing others with their OP picks which has to be true considering the chat in urf/arurf games is the most toxic i've ever witnessed starting with "outplayed, yu so bad" to the worst insults you'll ever read.

Ulriah6 votes

Or, just let us play the real URF, where we can ban and pick the champs we want.

That mode became utter horseshit after like the first day.

And the current one became even bigger utter horseshit after like the first min so yeah I'd rather have the original one ty.

With literally the fastest queues ive ever seen in the random queue mode and the general attitude of those ive met id say its better than ever. The only ones i see complaining are those who roll adcs, and i gotta say yeah aram champs are op but everyones op. its urf.

I saw this coming, All random urf was a good concept, but would expectedly fall prey to the same issues that plague the other all random mode, ARAM. My first AR URF experience today was me getting a free-rotate champion I have no idea how to play, the team random rolling god cc, and also at least one person getting their main on the other team. Each team got a consistent must ban URF champion: zed/fizz. All random URF couldn't guaratee that either team wouldn't have to face URF meta picks or deal with the issues that it wanted to fix in the first place. All it did was remove our ability to ban champions we definitely did not want to see, hand some of us with disadvantageous champions, and give all of us serious disadvantage to those who own ARAM accounts. My team got smashed pretty helplessly. I had to learn sneak peeks at tahm kench's novel of a tooltip whenever I got the chance, and had to change my build on the fly to adapt him to urf. Then we won anyway because the otehr team had no answer to the bullshit that was our Fizz. He was consistently alternated between frozen pee and troll poll. Like they had a very slim chance of ever even hitting him with basic attacks. Then when they almost had him, I ate him to safety. That bullshit was the sole reason we won.

They would have had to fix the problems random roll queue has before thinking this would work. I think in order for Urf to be anything slightly better than a completely infuriating gimmick, it would need it's own uniquely tailored queue: all champions unlocked, default bans on some champions(like Teemo on OFA) ex; Fizz/sona/zed, a player choice ban phase, followed by a random roll with all banned champions removed from the pool.

Dengeden2 votes

Firstly, what kind of ARAM-only account'd have Fizz or Zed? Secondly, an ARAM only account would have a higher chance of rolling a free week champ. Thirdly, URF is nothing but uncounterable bullshit. Fourthly, you had to adapt your build? Good?

Vekkna4 votes

So it's URF on Howling Abyss? Because ARAM accounts are godawful on SR.

Very Hard Engage4 votes

its urf on SR, but with aram champion selection.

accounts which which were used to gain an edge in aram now have god mode enabled in ARURF because it guarantees a powerpick like lux, xerath, ezreal 100% of the time when the majority of the time the enemy team is full of trash champs.

essentially bypassing the restriction of not being able to select a champion. now you're forced to play a random op champ. instead of sometimes op sometimes weak champ.

BastionKross4 votes

Perhaps there should have been a "You must have X amount of champions owned to play this mode" on ARURF mode like there is on ranked. Unlocking all the champions seems a little drastic, but requiring an account to have a reasonably high number of champions plus free week champs would dilute attempts at ARAM-only accounts.

In addition, having top tier, unbeatable champions be pre-banned would also cut down on a lot of ARAM-only accounts since half their roster wouldn't count toward champions owned.

dakota saturn4 votes

Or just make it completely random of any champion whether you own it or not.

People would play it to try a new champion, balance is easier, problem solved.

Yamispade3 votes

See this was what was supposed to occur.

Sad, but true. I had one game where 3 people in the enemy team were flashing lvl 6 and 7 masteries. And they were Varus, Ezreal and Vayne. Of course with matching nicknames/tags. You might guess how much fun all the other 7 people got. Our team got stomped, while the other 2 in theirs were carried so hard, they could AFK as well. I actually gave up ARURF after sth like 4-5 games. Making it AR was a good try to get rid of Ez, Zed and Shaco every game, but because of those ARAM accounts we end up with another failed URF. For this one time I am mad at community and not RITO, because it keeps ruining/abusing the best mode in the game.

Memeguel4204 votes

Had this level 7 Master yi in one of my games. The most painful experience of my life. Master yi was the only champ mastered.

wait what

Slythion23 votes

Aram-specific accounts only own champions who are considered OP on aram, which is basically a way to rig the system to ensure you always get a strong pick in arams "random" champ select system

Expectedly, these accounts are dominating ARURF because they are guarenteed strong picks (insert strong picks here) while real players are getting things like (insert weak picks here)

It's unfair and could've been completely avoided if Riot had listened to their community (this has been a common theme this season...hasn't it) and unlocked all champions for ARURF, whether you owned them or not. But nope, long live the Aram Accounts that abuse the system, right?

Edit: sorry for my terrible examples, I really don't play a lot of urf/aram to know the metas tbh :^)

Fondling Gems8 votes

Whoa whoa whoa. You are calling Urf Urgot bad? You realize that is one of the most picked Urf champs right?

Nuparu4 votes

His example isn't right but the idea he's trying to propose is.

Most strong ARAM champs happen to be strong in URF mode, so the accounts are still brain damage to deal with.

Xerath actually isn't that good because he's super immobile and gets jumped on way too quickly.

they should of make it like a draft pick

Urgot is good in urf? Lmao.

He's got a nice personal shield he can put up every few seconds, but what really makes him disgusting is his spam of Acid Hunters. It's a very large amount of damage and they're almost unavoidable when hit by his Noxian Corrosive Charge.

Dengeden1 votes

People who tryhard with LCS junglers like Rek or toxic laners like Urgod (or Yasuo :)) deserve it.

People who own all champions hopefully have enough game knowledge to abuse whatever the champion's spammable abilities are.

Slythion1 votes

I mean, tryharding should be acceptable for ranked games shouldn't it...that's kind of the point of the queue. Besides, I play rek'sai cuz she's fun so rip me I guess

There's a difference between players using strong picks (your example) and players simply abusing the system (aram accounts - which I kind of view as similar, not the same as, abusing a bug which is against the rules)

Sohleks2 votes

Lol but they actually said all champions will be unlocked in ARURF mode. Are yooouu suureeeee?

Very Hard Engage2 votes

they are not all unlocked.

you only have a chance to get the champion you own, or the ones on free rotation.

so lets say you have 30 champions, and the 10 on free rotation makes 40. ARURF will only pick from those 40 total, you wont get any of the 92 other champions, ever.

AdeBug2 votes

whats aram got to do with arurf? theyre diff maps lux is op in aram, not sum rift

Very Hard Engage4 votes

on urf the majority of mages becomes grossly overpowered and those without dedicated gap closers are terrible.

Shyvana Singed Udyr Volibear XinZhao

vs

Lux Morgana Azir Ezreal Ahri

who wins on any of those matchups?

a unique example would be Jax because his mana costs are eliminated, and leapstrike is on a negligible CD, he can stick indefinitely. Nocturne can still offer waveclear with Q, and he can ult reliably enough to get around the map.

but certain champs are literally dumpstered. and all of the above champs are both favored/eliminated on aram only accounts.

uhhh Xin zhao teribble? If the game goes past like 2 seconds and he gets maw + spirit visage he's unkillable with a knockup and crit every 2 seconds

Ahri can't, Annie can't, Ryze can't, Anivia can't, Amumu might, Xerath can't, Zyra can't, Quinn might, teemo might, Maokai might, Ashe can't, jax probably could, and rammus probably couldn't, lissandra can't ((>>Once he has maw and spirit visage as i said<<))

Jet Sett2 votes

Excuse me, I didn't say burst instantly, I said cc. He will not get out of cc lock because he has MR, he'll just take longer to kill. ESPECIALLY Ryze, who can still kill him anyways (unless you've never seen Ryze on URF) The extra tenacity doesn't completely save you from them, and if you're building MR, they're building M-Pen.

Once again, I didn't say burst instantly, I was referring to the cc lock you will inevitably be a part of when you fight them, making you easier to focus by their team, or just ineffeciant in fighting them

rito: But... people won't pay RP to buy champs then to play em if they can try em there [slayer-jinx-unamused]

Yamispade2 votes

Funny enough, I wouldn't see how it would matter if people were gonna buy them or not, its an alternative mode. Making the pool complete random to everyone just means more chances for people to try champs they dont own. If anything that means if they like them they'll buy them if with nothing else IP. Plenty of people still buy skins and boost it's not like they don't generate a ton of income from both that and advertising during Worlds.

I7A6X2v22 votes

Every champs have chances to win, what are u talking about? ITS URF! EVERY CHAMP CAN WIN, WE ARE NOT ON THE HOWLING ABYSS :D

If someone gets Ezreal in arurf, this doesnt mean their acc is an ARAM account, cmon lol

Very Hard Engage4 votes

you're right, i cant tell hes an aram only account based on one game, but i can go to a third party website or even his match history and see his last 15 games have been ezreal, ezreal, xerath, vel koz, ezreal, lux, morgana, azir, veigar, viktor, ziggs, annie, ahri, brand all on ARURF

ofc, hes only got a handful of dodged games, he will for sure wait 10mins to avoid playing this weeks crap arurf champs - tahm, vayne,

you can argue diana, khazix, rengar, nasus

but ryze, lissanda, lulu, varus are at least decent when the enemy team isn't 5/5 OP.

AdeBug1 votes

nasus is op an arurf, just max his e with magic pen runes and items and enjoy double kills with it and immortality in the end game with his R

Not surprised all these entitled kids are complaining about urf in the forums. Grow up people

Milodic Mellodi6 votes

Being an "entitled kid" doesn't make the opinion untrue.

Randoms Will Int2 votes

It is not the fact that the accounts are ruining urf. It is just frustrating to have a shitty champion against say ezreal.

dunkeroni2 votes

No they're not. You're just unlucky.

Oh, unless you mean to tell me that you actually asked EVERY SINGLE PERSON you lost against and they ALL said that they were playing on their ARAM accounts. No? I didn't think so.

ShadowParker1 votes

How do you know they have ARAM accounts though? Maybe they just got a good champion.

DragonMastaWolfy2 votes

That is possible, but if they get good champions consistently, they're most likely an ARAM only account.
