They'll nerf him eventually right...?

Patch 7.4: 56.92% winrate (Plat+)

Patch 7.5: 56.95% winrate (Plat+)

Patch 7.6: 56.85% winrate (Plat+)

Patch 7.7: 57.63% winrate (Plat+)

Patch 7.8: 56.57% winrate (Plat+) -- A couple of days ago he was 58%.

Ivern

Please chop his limbs off.

A lot of these Ivern threads are just looking at his win rate (Not gonna lie it's high) but at least give useful feedback, like what exactly do you want nerfed about Ivern?

He's problematic in too many ways but I'll get past that and address it quickly.

  1. The fact that he has strong clear speeds, while not having to build a Jungle item, while having the best counterjungling in the game (outside of maybe, maybe, maybe Shyvana) is too good.

  2. It's oppressive to go against people that he's donated buffs to while having it himself, but that's his "identity" so we'll have to deal with it

  3. He shields too much.

Here's how you handle it

  1. Cut his clear speeds down. He can't have it all.

  2. Nerf the cooldown on his shields. Once he gets CDR it becomes blatantly retarded. The CD -has- to be raised.

Everything.

Hit him with the nerf hammer everywhere.

Leave no branch behind

Personally, I'd prefer they either:

  • Remove his ability to duplicate buffs (i.e. leave the buff on the ground to be picked up by an ally)
  • Change his shield to only detonate (damage/slow) if it isn't destroyed for the duration (i.e. Sion's shield)

I vote for 2. Point 1 is rather unique and original and a nice difference between Ivern and all other junglers. It's a unique strength that should be preserved.

these are very valid nerfs ^ (EndlessS.)

No to the first, it's a really unique ability and should be kept, taking power elsewhere would be better.

To the second, I'd be fine with making it so the damage doesn't go off, he's a support and his E is his only reliable source of CC so losing the slow would be a bad move for keeping him viable.

I'd prefer they make his W passive more viable as a legit damage source without having to go into any wonky on hit builds. Less burst more DPS.

Agreed,kill that champion.

And then nerf him again.

how to nerf ivern

if his 'mark' is on a camp but the camp goes into combat the mark is removed and he has to replace his mark on them

its that simple, give him counter play for his jungling

so a enemy can go in his jungle and just attack the camps to reset his mark

that 1 change would drop his winrate by 5% at least putting him close to the golden average winrate of 50%

it also makes sense, ever seen a dog calmed down by its owner just for a loud bang to go off nearby (think 4th of july) and its freaked out again

its a reasonable nerf that does 1 thing, adds counterplay, that he can still bypass with smite to remove the camps instantly but with a CD

so if you see ivern go in to take your jungle you can go into his and break his marks making him spend hp again on it and then kill him after that

That's already how it works I'm pretty sure. That or something similar

it doesnt remove the mark he places it just he cant place a mark if they are in combat

it it fully removed his mark it would offer more counterplay

I actually couldnt care less about winrates since he isnt that toxic to play against.

why are you being rude?

I also don't feel miserable when I lose to a Ivern in a game because he doesn't feel toxic to play against

Yaśuo Main1 votes

but you will feel miserable losing against yasuo because he IS annoying, hence win rate =/= toxic kit. with your mindset, jhin being god tier all season is fine also. something not being annoying doesn't mean its fine, that's like feeling no pain after jumping off a roof and saying its fine because you don't feel anything, when you just broke both your legs and now you need a wheelchair for 2 months. he isn't being rude, he's calling him naïve for not knowing the difference between OP and annoying. Seems that I should laugh at you too.

Ivern is a mobile support. You see the same thing with Bard when he gets to roaming as well. At least with Ivern his damage is severely cut down to be VERY situational..... You have to be well versed in Ivern and his kit to figure out how many plays he can make. All of which require a team that is competent enough to follow up.

Bard doesnt duplicate buffs (one of the strongest mechanics in the game), have the best counterjungling in existence, and get to mass shield allies like Karma on crack. He has a stun, a single heal, a situational movement ability and an ult that's impossible to use in the fray.

Literally everything Ivern has makes him a stronger teamfighter in -most- situations (not all).

Also Ivern really isnt that hard and if you have an incompetent team you just make your idiots immortal.

Bard can Zhonyas an entire team, both ally or enemy, can move their entire team through walls to get into and out of fights..... With a stun that does a lot of damage and can stun multiple people, and even if it doesnt stun it is still a hefty slow. He can place speed boosting and health healing packs....... And have you done the math for the Bard meeps? At 100 chimes that also give him mana and speed and exp, his meeps do a total of 300 damage each. This is 2700 base damage from all 9 meeps..... Etc etc theres a lot of stuff that is going on there that people should already have figured out already.

And cant use Bard's ultimate in the fray? He makes a 5v5 a 3v5 with ease.

Ivern while he has good counter jungling, is EASILY dealt with if your team just wards. A control ward here, a blue ward there, it adds up as you collapse on him. Literally all you have to do to beat an ivern is to just counter jungle where he is at early game because he will have next to no hp most of the time...... His shield is far from oppressive, check Lulu for that one. It is able to always be up. His Q is fairly slow, almost as much as a Nidalee spear, easy enough to dodge. It is a Bind which means you can still cast non mobility abilities and auto...... So yeah.
