Itemization why don't we?

Not entirely sure the implications behind having this work or what it may cause, however wouldn't it be easier to limit champions only to items that pertain to there role as riot intended? I know that this may take out some of the unique or customization factor. However I feel that balancing this season has been more hard than it has ever been before and from what it sounds like after every rioter post I read. For instance and this is a poor example (if someone has something better please let me know) Devourer's overall is a pretty unique idea, however there a few champions that can continuously abuse this item due to there mechanics. If riot was to prevent yi from being able to build that, it would still be a useful items to other champions, but no make yi redicously strong late game.

Note: having a somewhat hard time explaining this, hopefully someone gets the gist of what i'm saying.

and it's a good thing you don't make decisions for the balance team

Mind being a bit more constructive as to why this idea won't work, rather than insulting?

Do you not realize what a horrible gameplay it would be if you just couldn't build certain items? And mostly those items are what make the champion actually successful in the first place

Some successful yes, however i don't see why it isn't do able. If it creates an itemization build path that isn't toxic and overbearing it makes easier to balance and supplement champions that hardly see any game play. i'm sure we can all agree graves is a very strong advocater of this right now.

There is no point in trying to discuss with you when you just call things broken that you don't like. Most (if not all) the outstanding balance issues from earlier this season have been fixed, but people just don't want to adapt to them, so they ask riot to nerf them more.

Well i wouldn't quite say balanced when even developers are agreeing they are overbearing.... Maw nerf, zed slight nerf, discussion of yi & ekko nerf? The corki nerf? I don't agree with your statement, i do believe riot realizes that some of these champions are a bit overbearing.

And hardly any of those were a problem at the beginning. Do you see the whole problem of just nerfing everything? It just causes the next round of whatever is strong to rise to the top. The problems at the beginning of the season were the high amount of damage from ADCs like Graves and Caitlyn, and then the damage and durability of champions like Yi and Fiora. All of those were fixed.

This then lead to graves going a bruiser build, which had led to more nerfs, and the removal of tank Fiora spawned things like tank Ekko, which is currently being adressed

Yeah i definitely agree with what you just said, but to say at the least that some item build paths were not responsible, i don't agree. You just said yourself it led graves down a tanky build path. As it currently stands he is a bruiser, with adc burst. I'm not sure if this is what riot intended and if they did then his itemization wouldn't have to be messed with. However if it wasn't they can prevent players from abusing that build.

That would destroy some fun alternate build, like, AP Volibear, AD Leblanc, etc.
