My other diamond friends and I have been talking about playing ranked or when we will start. And we all agree, it's just better to wait for riot to say "X is going to be strong these few patches.". I remember last season when Jungle was shit. I sent from p5 to P1 in 4 days. Then P1 to diamond in a month or two after that because I had stopped playing again.

It works. It is literally a way to climb. When everything that could fuck you is worse than you. That is when you go to climb.

Don't play ADC's or Mages in an assassin meta.

Don't play ADC's or Supports in a Mage meta.

Don't play Tanks or Fighters in a ADC Meta.

Don't play Mages or Tanks in a enchanters meta.

The rules are there. Only play in the direct meta and a meta that doesn't completely fuck you.

the issue though is by the time us normal players know what the meta is, it has changed because of a recent patch update that the pros are playing on

we are in a continuing cycle of catch up

and the patch notes don't always give away "yep this is clearly a _____ meta"

???

Like, I understand that ADCs are the best at killing tanks. However tanks are also the best at protecting ADCs aren't they?

Surely if your opponent is picking an assassin (with the hopes of blowing up your ADC) and you are picking a tank (to prevent them doing so) you're in the advantage?
