Duskblade is a poor man's version of Youmuu's

Duskblade received so much hype when it was announced but after going live it ended up feeling like a dud. It has a awkward build path, the nightshade passive has a 120 second cooldown, 10 armor penetration, and some move speed. On the other hand Youmuu's has a much better build path, 45 second cool down on a active that gives increased move speed and attack speed, 20 armor penetration, 10% CDR, and its a little bit cheaper then Duskblade. Duskblade is inferior in almost every way when compared to Youmuu's that it lacks any incentive to build it over Duskblade. Duskblade needs to either become cheaper, have more utility, stronger stats, lower cool down on its nightshade passive, or some combination of the previously mentioned to make it a item that is as strong as Youmuu's otherwise it will remain a inferior purchase that will only be viewed as a win more item.

Personally, I think the issue lies with Ghostblade. I'd nerf that (especially the attack speed) over buffing Duskblade.

I really hope I wasn't giving the impression to nerf Ghostblade. After the release of Duskblade a whole bunch of AD assassins got nerfed one after another as people came to slowly realize how crappy Duskblade actually is. So champions that didn't actually build it got nerfed because of a crappy item. I mean some of those champions were over tuned but definitely not all of em. I see Duskblade as a wolf in sheeps clothing, a item that was supposed to help but made it worse for the champions it was intended for.

Oh no, I didn't get the impression you want to nerf ghost blade. I get the impression you want to buff dusk blade. It's me that wants ghost blade nerfed/ changed. To be fair though, I don't have data so it's a 'feel' thing. I feel like ghost blade is still too strong and by virtue of that crowding out the space where dusk blade could exist. On top of that, I've feel like the active is aimed for ADCs (Attack speed). The stats, however, are aimed for AD melee, who rarely scale as well off AS and prefer flat AD, CDR and pen.

Yeah that's the thing. Assassis weren't nerfed because of Duskblade, they were nerfed because of Ghostblade, and pre-nerf Maw. GB is so strong that's almost silly.

I know its a niche item, but the people who were meant to use don't even build it because their are better options with duskblade not offering anything substantial enough to make it picked over those said items.

I have mixed feelings about the attack speed, its really good for pushing and taking towers which is what I mostly use the attack speed for which is pretty nice. I wouldn't mind seeing it removed in favor of buffing others parts ghostblade though.

yeah I kind of agree, as fun as duskblade is and as much as I love building the item on my full ad/as/crit chance darius jg I couldn't see myself being able to justify it in ranked with most champions. It is hilariously fun to use on almost any ad champion though in normals.

I can see why you said what you did, it makes sense.

Although, I do find duskblade very useful on Mord. With the nerf to boots of Swiftness and the removal of boot enchantments, I find the Movespeed very useful, the high AD good for when my opponents build MR, and the armor pen because if my enemy laner builds MR in my elo, more than likely they are a tank and will build armor, which I'm penetrating (and next I'll build Landrieu for magic pen)

Acually, I played a game not long ago, and got Duskblade AND Ghostblade (and just figured out you have to press a button to get the AS from Ghostblade) and did CRAZY well. I was originally going to do AD Mord for fun top lane, but ended up building a heavy mixed pen build. Rylias, Duskblade, Ghostblade, Liandries, Void Staff. Funny shit it was; THIER RESISTANCE WAS FUTILE, HUEHUEHUE!!!

On another note, the armor pen on Duskblade is lower because the AD on the item is higher than Ghostblade. Also, if the Ghostblade passive 25% delayed health chunk kills the enemy (and after a burst Mord unload, ignite, and ult, it will more often than not) than the passive on Duskblade is INSTANTLY REFRESHED, much like a Darius ult. Also, the Movespeed on Duskblade is constant, while Ghostblade is a short time with a cooldown. This can explain the price diffrence.

Mordekiaser es numero uno Huehuehue

Really tho, Lv.1 Mord ult is 25% health DoT, plus another 25% health chunk from Duskblade passive, ignite, and 3 Q, E, and w...that's a free kill or 5, huehue. Duskblade is an amazing mid game item on Mord. Totally OP on him, I think, if you have rylias and Steraks beforehand.

I usually build both on Zed

You confused some item effects, duskblades passive only refreshes if the target dies before it pops. So it's good if you wanted to save it for another target but the. It doesn't do anything if it keeps refreshing. Duskblade does have 15 more AD then ghost blade but even with that its still a crappy item when compared to it. Especially since until the recent nerf to ghost blade the difference was only 10 AD

Ahh!! I must have read the refreshing passive wrong. LOL WHOOPS

°commences to use the item on Mord still°
