@Riot, this one is from the heart...

I miss my old sion. I never really understood why he was reworked. The main reason was "He doesnt have a kit that works together." I loved that about him, he had 2 play paths. AP- Strong early game AD-Strong late game. The new sion is just your average bruiser. Don't get me wrong, I like him, but I think he could have just as easily been a new champion under a different name.

The fact I cant play my old friend is really sad, and I can't help but think that every time a rework is done that drastically changes a champ that there are a lot of hurt players out there. Is it too much to ask to just hold off on some reworks? Maybe look at how champs could be number tuned rather than scraped?

Here's to you old Morde mains out there.

I miss old Gangplank. Being terrible most of the game. Bankplank build with gp/10 runes and masteries, philo stone, heart of gold, and kage's lucky pick. talking like a pirate. Using his ult as area denial only because it had no damage. Now he's just cancer.

I'm sorry buddy, but Old Sion was bad, just very very bad. Either you spent half the game as shit and then after fighting for an hour to not feed got to be ok as AD Sion, or vice versa as AP. Half of his kit was useless depending on the build path you went on, that isn't good, he wasn't good, and any tweaks to his numbers wouldn't have changed that.

What's to understand? If he was strong enough that many people could play him his kit was oppressive, and if his kit was not oppressive it was easily counterable to the point where only a handful of dedicated players could do more than a bit of cheese with him. He was simply past the point of being balanced by number changes alone.

There's a number of champions like this, and with the whole "no bones" thing Riot has to follow now he was first on the list for updating. It may be a bit sad watching things slip into memory, but I don't miss the no counterplay, 100-0 playstyle of his old AP build, and definitely don't miss facing his AD "if you're next to me my team and I are immortal" playstyle. Hold on to the good memories, but let the annoying parts rest peacefully in that deep, deep grave.

Old Sion was a real lackluster & slacking compared to the current champion statuses, be it AD or AP.

What does AP Sion even do?

  • Q- A single point & click Q that already takes off half HP on squishies combined with a 2 second stun. At what part is this a "healthy kit"?
  • W- is pretty understandable, and most likely the only kit which doesn't seem to be a dumb one.
  • E - is somewhat random, kind of like a Master Yi's or old Fiora's bonus AD gain. Like, after all that AP builds, this has nothing to do with any of it.
  • R- technically the same as E. Build AP, and this moves has nothing to do with it.

What does AD Sion even do?

  • Q- A Point & click 2 seconds stun with minimal damage. This is better off on Taric alone, there's no need for another champion to have the same kit.
  • W- A pathetic shield with very small strength & damage. Enough to be rid off by one autoattack.
  • E- Like the AP version E, it's nothing but a free bonus AD gain for no reason at all.
  • R- A pretty good kit for an AD build. Can really help the team & sustain lots.
