OH MY DAMN! Stop going dragon instead of FREE Inhib Turrets after fight at turret!

I can't be wrong about this. We win a team fight 4 to 1 and they all break off for Dragon. WTF! are you doing. Darg must have crazy pheromones cause everyone wants to get in its ass as much as possible! We were at the turret. Its just good form to take it instead of wasting push time traveling away to a farther objective. Realize the pace of the game. You are already winning! You just conquered them in a fight. Kill the turret and decide if you want to force the inhib as well or get dragon on the way back. PRESSURE.

Someone pass out fliers on the OBJECTIVE ORDER. It wasn't even our 5th dragon. It was 3rd! This was the type of team that romped in battle and still got out pushed. We had a 6K advantage and they go dragon on a 30 second death timer.

GOLD 3 and higher it might be different for you cause you guys actually benefit from small advantages. Low Elo is still treating Drag Like its Baron. If I am wrong I just don't know how 3rd dragon is better than an Inhib turret. I see this often.

Don't get me started on "Lets go baron" when they have no NEXUS turrets. Those bronze Baron throws though.

There is still something to consider - how much health your team has after the fight, and who from the enemy is defending. Usually you do want to take the turret, but if everyone is under 200hp and they have a Ziggs/Xerath/Katarina/etc defending, you could easily get aced and completely miss your dragon. And baron.

But in general, yes, if you win a fight and your team has decent hp and can take the turret, they should.

baron over turret unless its a inhib.. when do people learn..

I've lost count on all the games I've lost because my team is stuck in the jungle trying to get Exp and CS while the enemy is pushing lanes, IN GROUPS!! I would be either the only one or have a partner stop one of the groups while my teammates fuss at why they're pushing and no one stopped them. That's my WTF?. It's retarded to be the ADC, support, jungler, tank, mage, or bruiser and go into the jungle to get a blue or red or dragon when we could still push hard.

The only time I go into the jungle is when we have all their 6 turrets and we still have all 6 on the field. We can then baron, dragon, or do whatever we want and still win.

I got so pissed a few days ago (it was just a norm, but it was going over an hour long), when after we got baron, aced the enemy, my whole team backed, when that was the only chance we were going to get to push to win. We lost that game.

Occams Raiser2 votes

I hate when people do this. If you take baron and ace them you don't back. You tank the shot and take what you can.

Nameless Voice3 votes

As an aside, the dragon is still an objective that gives your team global power. If you have killed some enemies and can take it, then go and do so immediately. Don't be that ADC who sits farming bot lane after a won fight and lets their jungler and support die because they took too long to kill the dragon without your damage and the enemy team came back up.

Ouroborous HD2 votes

im sorry to say that even in high gold this problem still persists. its not that people have forgotten what the objective of the game is. they just got brainwashed by the people they religiously watch into thinking the dragon is more important.

Occams Raiser2 votes

Thanks. I didn't think I was wrong.

You're right and wrong. It heavily depends on how long the death timer is and how much hp you guys have. It also depends on their team. If there is a champion like katarina still alive or just about to be and your team is still at the turret with like 300 hp, chances are, Kat will get a triple. If you decide to get the turret but not the inhib and instead go turret then back off to drag and your team is at least half hp, you should've went for the inhib. Any drag is at least somewhat important because each drag gets you closer to your 5th and it will hurt your team if you got the turret and backed and then the other team went for drag while you were at base because now they are one step closer to the more important drags.

Occams Raiser1 votes

Even Riot doesn't expect you to get to 5 drags in many of your games. I think it is overrated in a lot of games and divs. Am I wrong under the scenario I gave in OP? The carries were dead btw.

After you get Inhib turret, You can back for drag where if you went to get inhib too you might not make it out afterwards.

This is the correct logic and thinking.

Well said

If we have everybody up (-1 works too i guess) after the team fight and took down a bunch(we didnt ace them but we got 3-4 of them) of them i generally say, you guys keep up the pressure and pushing, im gonna solo dragon and meet up after. We get many objectives now :D

It only matters to get the first and the fifth dragon, but if you have to decide between open inhibitor when the enemy team is dead and a dragon? If you go dragon I assume you are braindead and don't want to win the goddamn match.

Same goes for the Baron, in fact. If you have a choice to take inhibitor or Baron, you always go for the inhibitor. For the next 5 minutes enemy team has to dedicate one person just to hold this lane. Baron buff lasts 3 minutes.

Because of that you get a strategic advantage in getting the Baron later. Which basically means you got two birds with one stone, by prioritizing inhibitor over Baron or dragon.

There is one minor exception. If you cannot take the inhib w/ enough time to at least begin backing before they start to revive, then this could be the the wrong choice.

The majority of games that my team is really behind and we turn around come from the exact same call I make in this situation every time it comes up. If the enemy is ahead and winning, drops a team fight, but has to push minions or something to get through inhib tower and just gets inhib down as your team is reviving you can actually beat them to baron and rush it down while they heal and buy, IF you hurry. The super minions take 1-2 waves before they start hitting your base, so you can ignore defense after clearing one, or even half a wave of minions to avoid the back door. That means you can rush to baron w/ 5 as the enemy is backing after you chase them off your exploding inhib and they will be too low to contest if they don't back, or too late to the party if they do. Baron buff balances out super minions pretty much in my experience, and you can usually use it to push the lane w/ supers in and take that inhib so they are balanced. If you're lucky you push a second lane next and take 2 for the 1 the enemy got.

In that case the better call is to take tower (or not if you don't have time for that) and then back off w/out killing inhib and get baron and heal and come back for the inhib so you don't let them rush baron to balance out the inhib.

Your response would be pretty solid, if I didn't write "open inhibitor".

But I agree.

T RexHasTinyArms1 votes

Herp derp derp, my bad :P I see so many times a team throws bc man we can get this and we should bc it's free that I just jumped to conclusions only skimming the post. My bad.

Vistha Kai1 votes

The most common throw I see in my games is my team getting Baron and, instead of recalling and pushing at least 2 lanes, they immediately go 5v5 or - even worse - 4v5 teamfight right next to the Baron pit. Then waste the buff within like 20 seconds.

You don't turn into Super Saiyans by getting baron buff ffs.

T RexHasTinyArms2 votes

*shiver

Man don't remind me. The throws are real. You'd think people would learn that super speedy baron recall is like begging you to go buy after baron and then push, but NOOOOOOOO...... We got baron guys, let's fight bc I want kills and baron let's me keeel u.... herp derp derp. FUUUUCK I hate those games lol.

Vistha Kai1 votes

And the best part they usually have like half HP before the fight even starts.

Occams Raiser1 votes

Great minds...

I completely agree people need common sense. That's why I wish I played ad people cuz I could take it myself but I'm only good with mages.

T RexHasTinyArms1 votes

Play heimer. Heimer is like the honey badger of mages when it comes to taking towers. Drop ult+q, then two more q, and take the tower w/ no minions. Heimerdinger don't give a shit, ew, so nasty.

I do this all the time. Sometimes the team fight is so close that staying and attempting to get the turret will result in more deaths for our team. Heres an example. Say you have a team fight and your team ends up killing all but one member of the enemy team but all of you are low and one person is dead. It would be better to go and take drag then try to siege a tower at low health and risk getting killed by that 1 person who probably backed and is at full health/mana. Especially if the one person to survive is like a mage, assassin, or ad carry, or even a tank like Maokai. They would most likely just walk up and kill all of you while you're trying to get the turret resulting in the enemy team kiling most of you, saving the tower, and if they're smart they might go get that drag that you should have been getting.

Occams Raiser1 votes

Hmmmmm. Take a big sack to lose a team fight 4/ deaths and run back out solo to try and get a quadrakill while they take a turret. Most would let it fall while stalling so the inhib could be saved by those that respawn.

Focus Teemo1 votes

Dragon/Drake and Baron respawn, towers and the Nexus don't... checkmate :P

Occams Raiser1 votes

So do the turret.

MugyvrNinja1 votes

I agree with most of the time in games every one rushes to baron even if it's on the wrong side of the map when we could instead of pushed mid and got an inhib but I think grabbing the most optimal objective after a team fight would be more acceptable if you end the fight in the top lane take the top if you win it near the dragon take the drag etc etc. The dragon buff has some nice buffs to it when you are under in gold farm it's a nice thing to have during a power struggle.

Occams Raiser1 votes

Seems like the turret is better still.

lol you're dumb if you think this works all the time
