PhDs Nuts9 votesThe problem with "getting tanky" against Akali is that she can either max Q or E to counter the defense you're building. You'll most likely try to rush MR, especially as an AD mid laner, so she'll just max E to deal physical damage.

Lee is a bit of a tilter to me. I've been an Akali main since early S5 and throughout that time, not only could he reveal akali by simply walking to her shroud and pressing E for the AoE true sight, but any laner could counter her by buying a 75g pink ward. I'm really happy they updated stealth and nerfed lee E because those were really unhealthy how hard they countered akali.
Plus, even with the stealth on W, she has a lot more counterplay than pre rework. She still has a large number of counters, especially in mid, plus unless she's already fed and snowballing she needs multiple rotations of her spells to kill a target. Which is why her best combo is aa a minion so second proc on passive is active > Q > Wait for Q CD > ult > aa to proc mark > Q > aa to proc second mark. then throw an E in there once or twice xD

Akali is SO HOT4 votesAkali has one of the worst pre 6s in the game which gives you more than enough time to set her behind and make her level 6 power spike less deadly. Once Akali hits level 6 the first thing she is going to do is look for an opportunity to all in you so have your jungler set up a gank and wait for her to go in on you. Unless there are enemy minions in a convenient place for her to ult to, she has no way to escape a gank assuming she already used her shroud when she initiated on you (which will happen 99% of the time) so she is very vulnerable to ganks and CC.
You can also just bring double exhaust on your team and basically remove her from the game. Doesn't matter how well she does early game because exhaust completely shuts her down.
She's an Assassin so if she gets a lead before level 6, then you are probably going to lose lane so the best you can do is hug tower and ask for help just like any other snowballing Assassin.

People always assume her pre 6 is trash, but with a q, I W for the slight tp, either zoning them out of lane, or chunking them for a good count (along with getting another Q off once again zoning/chunking. This along with the free sustain is pretty damn decent.
1wolfpack2 votesakali is weak pre 6 and that is where u need to take the advantage. by take the advantage I mean zone her, prevent her from csing or getting experince. out cs her etc. so that when she does hit lvl 6 u should have enough damange to kill her first or your too tanky for her to 1 shot you.
if you both get to lvl 6 even then you pretty much lost unless you get help from a jungler.

You may be at the disadvantage in area (her minions aggroed, and you're overextended), but her only defensive options become her W and her summs, since she can only ult to enemies.
