Why a bot? Because you re not NightBlue3 to have your own RIOTER banning people for you whenever you want. Apparently only famous streamers have this privilege.
Because if there was no response within 5 minutes people would still be bitching.
Guess they figured the bitching about an automated response was better than the bitching about it taking however long to get to the ticket.
16 reports in last 20 games seems like you are the type to report anyone that you think is to blame for losing the game. This report happy culture needs to stop.
It doesn't matter anyways. I got a 4 man troll party, took screenshot of their champ select and in-game chat where they clearly reveal their intent to troll, get a GM response that they'll look into it, and 2 days later the same troll from that 4 man lands in one of my games, by then where I reply to the GM to no waste my time pretending like they do something about tickets when my documentation of the event leads to no actual punishment for destructive behavior.
They really don't care. All they care is to have active players who buy skins for them, and since trolls buy skins and crap off their store, they have no incentive to ban them unless they're really high profile trolls that have public outcry force Riot's hand.

Sweet merciful fuck. Assuming even half of those were legitimate, that tells me that something reportable is happening in at least half of your games, which goes far and above the "10%" figure from Riot years ago.

Good good. Toxic behaviour is the worst known crime humanity ever commited. It so far caused 31 trillion suicide. Even the infamous Holocaust was nothing compared to this current crisis.
After all it's far easier to beat a guy 20 rank above, because he is smurfing, or winning a game 4v5, because of an afk, than pressing the mute button on a toxic kid.
Pressing the mute button requires the strength of 6 million lama. And over 9000 IQ to find it.
But seriously as Soraka it is part of my job to keep an eye on other lanes, and over 90% of the flames, and report requests are false alarms. Which is why they prefer to use bots, than have someone check each case one by one. Here are some wise stuff to understand:
You can't retreat beyond Turret. If you do, and lose all the farm, then enemy will be overpowered, and soon that counter becomes kill under turret for free gold. Jungler should at least try some early gank to avert such. First gank at 15. min. on a high countered lane might just give double kill, because of the minion+plate difference. Even if the poor guy gave 0 kills. "He lost his turret. Report him for abandoning the lane." or "He keeps feeding the enemy."
Even challengers lose lane sometimes. Even if you are the literar best player in the WORLD you could still lose lane to the second best, if he picks a counter after you, and your skill isn't that much higher. This is NOT AN 1v1, or 2v2!
Dying under friendly turret many times is not feeding, and you can't follow an enemy stronger than you. If a lane loses, then be prepared for roam, because even if he follows the enemy. The enemy just turns around for the free kill. Another often reason for flame. "Top came mid, and killed me. Report my top for not following!"
Your jungler can't help you if you keep push+dieing. So many fools play this. They win the lane, push like idiots, then die to gank. 90%+ times they either dead, running back to lane, or under enemy turret. Don't expect jungler to sit down for a several minutes waiting for enemy jungler. "Enemy jungler ganked me 4 times by now. Mine was 0. (0/4 toplaner with corpse under enemy turret)"
Back in the day you could farm under turret building tank, and simply survive the counter. Well thanks to all the super mega damage increase. It doesn't work anymore. At least not even close to how it was. So the "build defense" style helps, but it will NOT turn the tide.
If you fail to help your jungler while he is getting assfucked in your jungle by enemy, then don't expect much from him. An early death, and losing the buffs pretty much total break to the jungler right now. So get your ass in there, and help him. A working jungler and killing enemy jungler worths more, than that 6 minion. Many jungler gets flamed, because they don't do shit, and in many cases they can't, because enemy kills them or their buffs early.

You're reporting for int feeding which is easier to pick up on so a bot can respond. I sent in a ticket for a different reason and had a rioter respond

So basically =)) , we have a automatic report system , at the end of in-game ,and now the manual reports are again automate investigated by robots?? .
So that looks like they no want now to ban people for troll/grief ,cause that would close them buissness of baning people for toxicity ,when they meet griefers/trollers.
Why would be an automatic system over an automatic system...
I recently used this feature and it was fine. I reported player for inappropriate name and I got responce in 20 mins that the player will be punished. There is a lot of problems in LoL but support isn't one of them.
I've never liked the 'opt-in' explaination. Sometimes, you don't know you are getting a message from some jerk.
And yes, I have reported for pm. The guy barely said a word during the game and nothing reportable. The response to my support ticket wasn't "We won't take action because it's a pm". It was 'remember to use the reporting system and be careful about accepting friend requests'. Nowhere did it say they would take no action.
Perhaps stop reporting people for having a bad game. Clearly you haven't seen intentionally feeding. As you described your teammates as " bot lane duo's that are worse", that's not inting. Report Happy people should have their report privileges taken away and let their teammates report people
League employees are growing slim, and bots are perfect to makeup for that.
