A Vladimir nerf suggestion

SkyblazeHydraX3··4 votes·999 views

Riot themselves have said that Vladimir is looking too strong and needs nerfs, alright? Don't get pissy at me over that.

The suggestion is pretty simple. Vladimir's E, Tides of Blood, features a charge up mechanic much like Vi Vi, Xerath Xerath, Sion Sion, and Varus Varus' respective Q abilities. However there is a key difference here; when you CC any of the aforementioned champions, they lose the charge the charge they've built up, the mana the spell cost, and the spell goes on cooldown. Vladimir? You hard CC him, and the charge automatically goes off.

I realize Vladimir's E costs health and isn't quite the same as the aforementioned abilities, but once he starts his E you have no choice but to either take it or run, because hard CC just means he gets off his damage anyhow. I think a good start for nerfing Vladimir would be making it so that hard-CCing him is actually rewarding. I mean hell, compared to all the other aforementioned champions he can actually do something to avoid hard CC. So why shouldn't he suffer the same penalties?

how is it too much where the max damage he can put it blast half of your HP? with that kind of range with that kind of damage seems a bit too strong.

It depends on how his E interacts with his pool and/or Zhonyas. If it isn't broken by troll pool I don't think they will make it break by CC.

His E isn't broken by the troll pool, but that's exactly why I think hard CC should break it. He, compared to all the champions I mentioned previously, has a means of dodging CC and still getting off his damage. If he messes up or gets CCed, he should be just as penalized as the aforementioned champions.

I can see where you are coming from. I do think if it's not broken by his pool and is broken by cc it's a little confusing. It breaks the rules and expectations. Having said that, I think he E already does that so I wouldn't mind too much if this change went through, as long as W, CC and Zhonyas are consistent.

The healing from Crimson Rush seems way too powerful for him to get it when casting it on minions. It doesn't seem to be very risk/reward if the enemy champ backs off so he just uses it on a minion instead for that fat healing.

The heal is based on missing health, so that might have an impact.

What I don't get is what you are supposed to do to a Vlad when Crimson Rush is up. If he Q's you then he gets bonus damage, so it seems like you're supposed to back off during that window, but the heal is actually way more important so he doesn't mind spending his rush on a minion. It seems like the only way you can deny him is to have a lead and aggressively zone him away from minions while also being so much stronger than him that he doesn't want to use it on you or you'll go in and kill him (after he heals for a big chunk of his missing health?)

It seems like you need to get a big advantage on Vlad on your very first trade and hold onto it for the rest of lane phase or else he'll get a lead and leverage it for the rest of the entire game.

Its a Meta about Sustain that Swain Created, Vlad isn't OP he is just on the strong side and fit the meta perfectly, If Riot Buffed Ziggs, then Ziggs would be the creator of the Siege Poke Meta, in which they would counter the Swain Meta by bringing Ranged poke like Xerath, Lux, Varus. If they would buff Executioneer Calling and Morello grievous wounds.

Take it elsewhere. Riot said Vlad is too strong, so he's getting nerfed. Whether he should or not is a moot point.
