When people say "*champ name* is countered by hard CC"

I cringe, because this rule applies to most champs anyway, if a champ is only countered by CC and not completely shutdown by a specific champ (like how Darius shuts down Nasus and Kled BIG TIME) then there's something wrong here.

Do you know diffrence between MasterYi getting hard CC'ed in the middle of your team and Sejuani getting hard CC'ed in the middle of your team?

Yeah, one just dies a little faster

A CC'd Yi just requires someone with decent burst to drop their combo on him. A Sej needs to be shredded down by all the DPS they have.

More importantly Sejuani does at least half of her job just by swallowing damage and CC... whereas YI completely fails if he gets CC'ed and killed before he can score any kills.

Yi's assassination attempt gets countered, Sejuani just does her job. lol

That's because every1 thinks that CC also includes the huge burst of damage that follows in 1vs5 fights.

If you CC a hard tank he is just going to walk away a second after, if you can kite him (or any juggernaut) then you win even if you deal 20 dps.

yi and sejuani cant be slowed, garen has a cleanse, malzahar and morgana have a spellblock shield etc

Garen doesn't have a cleanse. His W prevents cc during the first 0.75s its active, if you activate it half way through a cc nothing will happen.

Yi's ult is 7 seconds just wait it out or cc him. Sej's is only as long as her passive is up Garen has a "cleanse" for slows and a reduction against hard cc malzahars sheild blocks one thing and if an ability does more damage than her sheild has health left it will apply the cc A better example would have been olaf

they still block cc O.O

Say you were playing something like nautilus or leona are you going to burn a single ability of cc on someone or would you layer it on them then being able to block one would be almost meaningless as there would be more on the way

depends what you need to melt them O.O sometimes 1 ability is all you need .-.

but as leona and nautilus you shouldn't 1vsX but at least rather be with an marksman or burst mage or even assassin.

never said they would be in a 1v1 all im saying is that for people who can deny cc they have more than you can deny

There's a big difference between CCing a Yi and CCing a Shen.

Note how I said "most champs" obviously Shen isn't one countered by it

Some champions are safe enough to don't take cc and other are imune to cc, so not every champion is countered by cc.

Ik I was pointing out tho how most are "countered" by hard CC is all, so the argument of "Katarina/Yi/Fizz/etc. are countered by hard CC" is invalid in reality

HenzoAF1 votes

Maybe

Terozu2 votes

No, because they're assassins, everyone can be cc'd, not everyone dies the moment they do and have no counter cc.

Typical noobs want to win just cuz they hard countered their enemy in champ select screen.

[zombie-brand-facepalm]

Hard countering by picks or items is also a bad game design, and it is different from soft countering which is healthy.

All champs should be hard countered only by outplay, like dodging critical spells from Mages or getting in the melee dead zone of a ranged champ ( clearly doesn't apply here in LoL but it is an example form DoW games as u can counter ranged squads by getting in their face and forcing them to use their weak melee weapon if they didn't change their position ).

I disagree. There are champions that take a larger hit from being CCed at the right time (Mainly champions with high-impact, channeled ultimates), and those are the ones that get countered by hard CC. Stunning a Veigar stops him from dealing damage for the duration of the stun, but otherwise doesn't affect his output. Stunning a Katarina channeling her ult stops her from dealing damage for the duration of the CC, and prevents the damage that hadn't come out yet from her ultimate.
