not really other attempts have been made and tbh, champions like Azir Heimerdinger already have in their kits to be objective oriented mages and would suit that role.

also i would like to state that there is a master tier Mordekaiser who does go botlane and is basically an apc

The thing is this has never been anything new. Just up until now it's never gotten any "meta" consideration. Up until now going Azir or Heim bot and any of the such was just someone "h4v1ng fuuuuvn lololelul it r norm4lz" or just trolling in normals. But the people that play it seriously with a strategy are just as effective as an ADC.

The same way people started playing master yi, olaf, and irelia mid simply because faker did it. (well master yi was technically played mid in season 2 long before faker but still). Or miss fortune support. Everyone wants the meta to break but nobody will do it own their own seriously. "If it's not meta it will lose, and if it will lose, don't play it" UNLESS you see it in a pro game then everyones like "Oh well the pros did it so that means its meta so i won't get flamed for trying it and losing with it"

Don't get too happy though. Now that riot is starting to take the idea of duo lane mage and support seriously, you can be sure theyll nerf it out of existence if they have to. Like mid's that had Frost queen's gutted, Mages might gut bot lane.

Dude you gotta realize that if ADCs are gone tanks and juggernauts will just rule over this game past the +50 min mark. Wow you got a Ziggs bot have fun trying to break trough item 3102 item 3065 item 3190 . So ADCs being replaced will not happen they are the safest option you can go. Mages bot are just memes by shitters who think they can end the game pre min 20 and be fed. Wich might work out in high elo games, but anything below Diamond will never have this work as a meta pick.

there is not a single game in the last hundred games that i played where a game lasted past 45 minutes.

does the strat have weakness? yes its a mid game finish the game strat instead of waiting for an adc to have at least 2 items to be any good you get a mage with one item and his powerspike.
