So Triforce is good on Irelia right now?

Guess what. Irelia nerfs on the PBE. Gotta love the consistency of Riot "balancing" Irelia, just to change Triforce afterwards so they have to "balance" her again. And this time it's actually a serious nerf, not some 20 less damage on E BS. I think at some point I just have to accept that Riot is just incapable of leaving my main alone and that I should probably search for a new main. Seriously, every Irelia main with half a brain has been telling you, Riot, since season 3 that Irelia is good when Triforce is good on her. And yet you keep fucking up her balance. It's just... "amazing". Also if these nerfs go through Irelia will be fucked as soon as you change Triforce again.

I'm just mad that Riot doesn't seem to learn. Irelia is only decent when the meta favors her or when Triforce is good on her. That's it. Just for the record I was also against the recent Q buffs, applying my logic consistently saying that Irelia was only bad because Triforce was bad and the meta didn't favor her, and that she would come back once Triforce would be stronger on her or the meta would favor her again. This would obviously mean that they then would have to nerf her again because the Q buffs fucked up her "base balance". I'm mad because it happened exactly as I (and probably any other Irelia main out there) predicted.

As someone who has played Irelia a lot, (Not this patch, obviously) the planned nerf was something that would have made sense before the Trinity changes. Her ult CD was fine once upoin a time, but a lot of the other duelists (Rivem, Jax, Trundle) had had their ult CDs increased. This lead to Irelia often being able to win the matchup by abusing the shorter ult CD. Trinity changes made this particularily obvious with the 20% CDR (up from 0% not too long ago, and 10% more recently).

Frankly, Irelia has been pretty strong before this patch, but was being heavily countered by the abundance of tanks top, particularily the Sunfire+Gauntlet tank builds.

I see what you mean there, but Irelia's ult, when compared to those other champions has very minimal impact. It does damage, and it heals her sure, but just about every other bruiser top lane has a more influential ult in both team fights and late game.

I do agree that Irelia is stupid strong rn, and I have to admit I would have been more upset if they changed something like the healing on her W or the numbers on her W/E again, but I feel like this nerf is pretty heavy handed, considering they just buffed her recently.

In lane her ultimate gives her a good amount of damages and healing.

Don't forget that each time she presses R, she procs item 3057 too.

Irelias ult haveing minimal impact?!? 320 basedamage with 2.4 ad ratio at rank 1 while clearing waves, setting up dash resets, being longranged, beeing able to proc sheen multiple times aswell as stacking up fervor while also healing quite a bit is one of the highest impact ults in the game, especially in a duel close to minions. People seem to forget that the ult has 4!!! shots.

Her ult is very good (but also very necessary) in a duel. It sucks compared to a lot of ultimates of other toplaners in teamfights though since her whole ultimate basically boils down to damage. Without her ultimate Irelias options are very limited which is why this nerf will have significantly more impact than the 20 damage on E nerf she got last time she was good.

Your champion is cancer and never deserves to be viable ever. please stop complaining about her being treated unfairly when playing against her when she's even half way decent is unfair in itself.

yeah who cares if she runs people over off of one item, who cares if she can split push and teamfight equally well, who cares if she's more mobile than half the carries in the game and does equitable damage to them as well.

Who cares if she punishes you for losing and E max lets her shrug off any lane that might stand a chance of dealing with her in any fashion,

No, she's fine, perfectly healthy 10/10 would definitely want to play against.

does every single type of damage, can tank bust, can burst carries, can destroy towers in seconds and is great at teamfighting, you cant catch her because she's virtually immune to CC in a catch environment and can just E and run if it goes poorly for her (or, the more likely scenario, turn around and two shot the squishiest person on your team and then run away)

Fuck her. Nerf her harder, nerf her to pre rework poppy tier urgot her Olaf her Evelyn her i don't care what you have to do, get rid of her, the way she is right now she's the most counterintuitive unfun zero weakness bastard child of a champion designer i've seen since pre rework poppy.

Yes AT THE MOMENT she is very strong although she HAS some bad matchups, take Jax for an example. Worked pretty well in the lcs. Also her winrate got lower by 0.3% (which might not be much), but at least it did not increase further. Additionally the statistics show that a few champions just do outperform, outscale or bully her during the laning phase.

Please don't ignore those facts. I definitely agree with you that she is very strong and even a competitive pick, but there are possibilities to fight her.

So why wouldn't one change trinity so it benefits a wider range of champs and nerf the outliners? Irelias kit is inherently broken, just as that of many other divers as it basically boils down to ball of stats. Irelia is good when anything is good on her, and she's kinda op as soon as she's good as she hardly has any bad matchups and can work in nearly all circumstances. As soon as irelia is the best choice in one situation, she is prettymuch automatically the best choice in any circumstance, which crowds out other options, which is why she usually is kept somewhat weakish(still viable though)

This is how it works and always has worked. Triforce is good on Irelia -> she gets nerfed

The changes to Triforce took the Item from the ADCs and gave it back to the bruisers. It doesn't benfit a wider range now, the range got smaller.

I disagree. There are a considerable amount of very powerful champions that give Irelia a hard time nevermind the state of Irelia/Triforce. Also there are a lot of melee vs melee skill matchups that can go either way. I everything else fails you can skill ask the jungler to come around as an Irelia that's behind has a very hard time to come back into the game.
