LeBlanc revert, Mana changes, Azir probably having his wave clear reduced by a ton...

Mordekaiser Mid is going to be extremely good of a pick in this kind of meta.

Why you may ask? Well, it's mostly due to the fact that Mordekaiser mid manages to out-shove almost any mage due to his insane amount of wave clear in form of an almost entirely AoE-loaded kit. He can instantly clear waves from level 1, even with little to no AP and forces mages to farm under tower, allowing him to steadily build up a farm lead over them.

Additionally the other class of champions that is going to become even more popular, comes in form of mid lane assassins, which make up some of Mordekaiser's best matchups.

The reworked leblanc was probably the only Assassin that could touch Morde and she was a really hard lane but the new one, oh boy, she's probably one of his easiest matchups nowadays and basically a free win if you know how to play the lane AND have a bot lane that responds to your missing pings.

Azir, one of the only THREE counters Mordekaiser has in mid, might have his wave clear neutered as well so Mordekaiser can stand a chance against him.

And lastly; item 3116 is getting it's AP buffed again, putting it at NINETY AP, which gives Mordekaiser an insane one item powerspike in form of the scepter.

All in all great set of changes to look forward to as a Mordekaiser player :^)

There's also the counter point:

Morde lacks any form of CC, naturally hard shoves waves, and has no way to escape. Him becoming a popular mid pick into mages - who generally have CC - is going to lead to him getting his pants camped off.

Mordekaiser does not run from fools. They believe they have ganked him. And then he gets a double kill and destroys your turret with your own soul.

If you let him farm, bully, and get huge then yeah; absolutely.

But Morde pushes from level 1 and never slows down. It's laughably easy to put him so far in the dirt he'll never recover.

That's why you play smart. You're pushed into their turret? Back off and let the wave crashes in the middle. See the jungler in a different lane? Be agressive and make a play or shove turret. Typically if you're against a hard CC or engage jungler, you play passive until you know how location. Someone like rengar or talon ganking you is hilarious because they're so squishy, and often they can't assassinate you fast enough due to your W shield and heals. Someone like wukong is a problem however, because he can get to you without you even realizing it, and as a burst mage, his clone will make you waste abilities. Honestly they only jg I have a hard time against are Zac, J4, and Elise.

I just want to know why Morde's base MS was never buffed back to a reasonable level after Riot mostly gave up on Morde bot being a thing.

Having 325 MS when you have no innate way of sticking to anyone and a chunk of your damage is gated behind a series of three empowered basic attacks kinda sucks.

This is why we mostly build reverie first item

Well, at least Morde gets some indirectional buffs

? Morde still has 150+ known bugs that make his spell unreliable.

Only a few of them are actually frequent enough to be of any importance, and even then it's mostly even beneficial.
