@Meddler Karma, Lulu, and Sona Will Never Be Solo Laners
> {quoted} > > I think this is the bit you're referring to about marksmen and risk of them getting phased out of the game? > > Replace the word 'marksmen' with 'enchanter' and that's our stance on the support position. If the enchanters who've been seen as core support options for years aren't effective, or if another class is doing what they do but better we'd want to do something about that immediately. Right now the support position certainly has some challenges we need to address, I'd argue lack of effective enchanters certainly isn't a problem though, particularly with the boost Redemption and the revised Locket have given the class.
If you have not read his post, please go to the original thread and read it. How ridiculous is his response? This is a clear indicator that champions like Karma, Sona, and Lulu will never be balanced for solo lane or ever have a kit that is effective in a solo lane. We have champions like Velkoz, Brand, Malzahar, Zyra, and others going into bot lane and being played as support, because they are offering something the generalist enchanters cannot. Riot doesn't think lack of effective enchanters certainly isn't the problem, when that is actually the problem. All of the enchanters build, feel and play the same.
All enchanters have a mechanic or ability that shields/heals, speeds up an ally in some way, and one damage ability that does hardly anything. To make them more useful Riot adds shield and heal boosting items to try and make them more relavent over the mages that are taking up their space. You want to know what these champion that are going support are offering? A kit that is balanced around a solo lane and offers damage. Certain champions, like Karma, Sona and Lulu used to have pretty good solo lane presence with abilities that allowed them to help teammates. You took all of that away.
Karma - Karma used to be a battle-mage with a kit that made her an enchanter as well. She could use her abilities on allies and help them in battle. Now Karma is nothing more than a shield-bot enchanter with pitiful damage mid to late game. You bottlenecked Karma, who used to be a solo lane champion, as a support.
Lulu - Used to have a good solo lane presence but was taken away with her q damage and other things. You want Lulu to be a support and not have any solo lane presence at all.
Sona - Used to have good damage and was fun to play, until you nerfed her so much that she is boring and bland to play. Sona used to be so much fun being played in solo lane, but now I feel like all I am useful for is using my ULT correctly.
Meddler and RIot, if you are going to allow mage champions like Brand, Vel, Malz and others into our lanes . . . . . why cannot certain champions like Karma, Lulu, and Sona be allowed to do the same? Aren't you being a bit of a hypocrite? Maybe you should rework these champions kits so they cannot be played as a support, sine you did that with champions like Karma, Sona and Lulu who used to be pretty good solo laners.
as you mentioned, jumping on him and he'll just knock you away and then kite you with his W and shock blast and easily deal a lot of damage. Then in the Mid/Late game during the sieging he can easily do over half of some ones HP with shock blast from a safe distance.
as a Melee champion then fight
, even when Lulu was strong in the top lane.
