pick someone who profits from free farming, and get lifesteal and armor first if they dont have innate sustain. so you can tank the creeps.

nasus should counter him well. jax, irelia. anyone really who has a weak early game and really powerful lategame, and just wants to farm until he can 1v5. the singed is gonna fuck his own team, by pushing creeps into their turret and letting them farm up.

irelia powerful late game? you're a funny guy. she drops off around mid-late.

She can still assassinate carries quite easily late game since one defensive item won't really save someone from her. She's not quite as strong late game in comparison to some champions as she is mid game, but she's still quite powerful.

Might depend on how you build though. I prefer: item 3111 or item 3047, item 3078, item 3110, item 3065, item 3153 or item 3074 , item 3143 in most cases.

late game they lifesteal your damage back too much which gives their team longer to peel you off, plus they can have QSS to break your stun. having last whisper means they can shred you as well.

Yes, but you can still assassinate enemy champions. Not as quickly as you could during mid-game, however you can still easily dive past the enemy frontline absorbing damage and ignoring a lot of their CC. Even if you don't kill them, you have made their team defend their carries and possibly given your team a numeric advantage.

If lifesteal is an issue, you can easily swap a defensive item for item 3075 and prevent their healing. You have enough burst and sustained damage on Irelia to be a threat through mid and late game and are durable enough to survive in the thick of a fight.

In any case, just because Irelia can't solo-kill the enemy backline anymore doesn't mean that she falls off late game since she is still a large threat to enemy squishies during fights and takes a lot of resources to kill.

their tanks will be indestructible to you, and if your dive on their carry isn't immediately followed up you will be immediately popped. you dying quickly means the fight goes 4v5 and you lose.

also if you have to Q to a champion to stun a carry it means you blow your escape tool as well.

in my experience irelia works best in one of two cases:

  1. you get ahead, push turrets in other lanes and end the game around the mid-point to where you can be tanky enough to dive but your damage hasn't dropped off too hard.

  2. if the game goes late, she functions as secondary initiator to your actual tank (like a sion or hecarim or something). their team won't be able to spike down two targets which means they'll have poor focus and your carries can then move in and clean up.

but solo diving, no way. you can go trinity > pure tank and you'll still disintegrate if you get focused in late team fights. and if you go second damage item like botrk (i normally only do this if ahead and after finishing trinity + tank item) then you're a lot squishier and definitely can't initiate late game.

I typically get 35% CDR on Irelia after my third/fourth item, so I don't really have an issue escaping after I Q to a target. At max rank and with CDR, Q is on a ~4 second cooldown.

Irelia isn't great against tanks, but she still down decent damage between Trinity Force, W, and Blade of the Ruined King. It can take a while to kill them, but you have good consistent damage and have enough sustain that you can heal off a significant portion of any damage they deal to you.

You shouldn't necessarily be solo-diving the back-line, though it can work if you managed to flank the enemy team. However, if the enemy team manages to kill you before you can deal any significant damage, they typically means that:

  • they blew a lot of cooldowns killing you, allowing your team to clean them up if they play it correctly
  • you chose a poor time or location to engage

In addition, team fighting isn't the only consideration for a strong late game. Irelia can work well as a split pusher as she is a strong duelist and can often use Q, E, and her durability to outmaneuver and escape from enemies trying to catch her out. Her waveclear isn't spectacular without either a clearing item (i.e. Ravenous Hydra, Statikk Shiv, Sunfire Cape) or using her ultimate (~35 second cooldown with CDR), but she can handle many opponents and kill towers relatively quickly (using attack speed and Spellblade).

Probably going to have to agree to disagree on this. We seem to have different ideas of what makes a champion strong late game and I doubt we are going to reconcile our beliefs.

Just ignore him, that's the way to do it.

Pressure other lanes hard. Singed is only 1 man so there is a limit on how fast he can push.
