Any veigar player miss his old ult, or like the new one? And his state in the game

I guess I like them both, but I'd prefer the %ap, he's an anti mage, but no longer can hold that title now. Thoughts? Also how do you think veigar is performing?

The % enemy AP was a ridiculously toxic design. Thank god Riot removed that bullshit mechanic. Veigar has never been an "antimage". He's never needed that % AP damage to 100-0 a squishy.

It still meant, however, that in typical teamcomp you had 2-3 champions that could power-through the cage, and try to get to veig and kill him, as his damage to them was gimped. In his current state, making aggressive play on Veigar is really, really hard for champions who don't have blinks or unstoppable dashes. I don't think it's any less toxic.

And that is different from old Veig how? You still got stunned if you tried to dash through his old wall. Only difference is it stops you from moving now. Dont forget they also removed that uber-toxic instant stun too

The difference is that now Veig's damage is a huge threat to anyone in the team, meaning that powering through the cage usually ends up in dying.

Not really. Bruiser champions with no AP and some MR could tank it with confidence.

Instant 2.5s stun was inherently toxic. I'm glad Riot has gotten him to a point where he's viable while scraping some of his more toxic design features

Veigar is probably better than he's been for a long time

no idea why people don't like his busted execute ult, it lets him pretty much nuke anyone instead of only targeting squishies

His ultimate was the only thing that made him an anti-mage. The rest of his kit is clearly designed to let him kill whoever the fuck he wants, and Im glad his ultimate reflects that

He was never an anti mage. That bonus effect was added onto his ult for the lulz back when Riot didn't really care as much about healthy kit design. Kassadin is the anti mage.

i'd say veigar is in a great place right now. he can get hella strong when played right, but if an enemy team can play to his weaknesses he drops off in power

the only thing really keeping him from being played more is that burst mages aren't meta. the fact that he's hella immobile also doesn't help

the old ult made a little sense thematically, but the new one is just better in pretty much every way

hopefully he remains untouched

He was never meant to be an anti-mage. If anything, thematic-wise, he's more about "getting revenge on the big guys", and the enemy % AP was a failed attempt.
Pretty solid pick.

I liked him before and after, still play him a lot in the support role. The new ult is better for the support role generally because you can help insta kill the ADC who doens't build AP. The stun nerf hurt his support but overall still good.

Great champion overall.
