How many of you know this?
QSS removes zed ult debuff... winning? Zhonyas removes 100% of damage taken during the time of use.... winning?
I dont play as zed... EVER
but i dont think he is anywhere near as OP as half this forum says

You know what's free? Leveling up and ultimates. You know what's not free? QSS and Zhonya's. You know who has the advantage if they run you out of lane? The guy who get the free stuff.

Well those are good items against Zed but Zhonyas is incredibly expensive at 3500 gold. It's only 87% gold efficient without the active. You really just want the active but you need to fork over roughly 3k to buy the active. QSS is a big setback in your item build, especially if you're an ADC who is behind.
That's probably why it's so frustrating. If you are spending at bare minimum just over a thousand gold for an MR item in order to counter-build their AD mid-laner's ultimate then he is already winning. That being said Zed isn't really OP he's just incredibly safe for what he does if you compare him to other assassins.
The only archetypes that would need or would want to buy these items are AP mid-laners or AD marksmen. I wouldn't think either of them are really happy that they NEED to buy these items in order not to die to an AD assassin. You are correct however in that they are the proper options in dealing with Zed. Zhonyas active is always useful.
You want to know when I play a mage versus any assassin? I build the two items that make them a joke
and
.
The last 2 games I played vs a zed top I still out laned him and won, if you're careless then any character can capitalize on it.
Well those are all items to be bought. But I don't think zed is OP.
Honestly, you don't even need those. When I have to play against AD champions in the mid lane I will typically just take:
Exhaust or Barrier can significantly reduce his damage during an all-in. Teleport lets me back freely when I'm low on health.
Armor (runes and Seeker's Armguard) reduce his poke damage and his all-in damage.
Two Doran's Rings provide sufficient mana sustain to trade and waveclear as necessary (provided I don't spam).
Zed's ultimate always puts him behind the target after a set delay so it can be quite easy to CC him when he lands (and before he can swap to a shadow) to create distance, prevent him from casting abilities and/or burst him down without allowing him to dodge.
In my experience, most of the complaints regarding Zed are coming from those who are either unable or unwilling to adjust their playstyle to handle him.
I've seen so many people argue that it's unfair that Zed can make you change your build to handle him that it's pretty sad. You can (and often do) alter your build according to the enemy team and your lane opponent whenever possible since it is typically the most efficient option.
