Can anyone explain reasons behind this kind of hate?

Hate that I get: I get hated for playing Varus who is a Marksman, who is seen by many as just another right clicker...

But I don't main any Marksman champions and I don't main Varus because he's a Marksman but because...

  • He has thematically awesome abilities (Blight/Corruption).
  • He's no regular Darkin as he is described to be a Darkin Hybrid (based on LoL Wiki).
  • He's Interesting character in general.
  • He can't just right click to kill someone (Like Kog'Maw, Vayne, Tristana, Twitch), but needs to land his abilities to detonate Blight stacks to be able to deal decent damage.

I even get comments like "noob champ" "right click gg" dispite me having to use skillshot abilities to kill them.

So why is it justified to hate that I play a champion that I love just because he is classified as a Marksman, even though he isn't designed like any other regular/traditional Marksman.

It's just ppl being salty that they got killed.

Anything other ppl play is easy champ, if not then it's their team, if not then you are chetaing.

I love these guys. "OMG, scripter, there is no way you would hit all these Urgot ults on me without cheating!".

Well, maybe if you would try to sidestep instead of always running away from me in a straight line, I could have missed it.

Because he's a right clicker and you just right-clicked to gg, you noob. Unless you were playing a caster, then you just won because you were playing a mash-all-your-keys-and-win noob champ unlike their extremely difficult, high skill cap champion. That's the only reason they lost.

Right, but also remember that champs like Zed that have skillshots are braindead because is an assasin which means he's op and it makes angry all the mage players on the Boards.

Most funny thing was when I played against a Master Yi as Urgot and he constantly flamed me for playing a braindead champion, while his pick requires so much skill that it is just unfair.

It's not really fair of people to hate marksmen in general. You're literally playing the class of champions that has the lowest defensive prowess and requires a team with half a brain to even exist and survive in the game; it's just "right clicking" in the same way that every other caster champion is just pressing qewr. Am I intended to be impressed by that?

It's likely people who also think that you just picked a bad champ. Like Tristana, Cait, and Xayah, Varus hasn't been doing too hot. I know I got flamed recently for picking Tristana, whom I enjoy for similar reasons.

Like OtterlyLost already said, the general hate on marksmen is completrely unnecessary. Everyone has different preferences and should play alongside it.

While I enjoy many marksmen (simply because I care for thematic and character more than kit, I can learn to use a kit correctly, but I won't learn liking a character), they are actually quite hard to play for me.

It feels like every champion in the game has the main goal to kill the marksman. Diver is there to dive in the backline and one shot the ADC. Same for assassins. Mages are trying to blow up the ADC from afar with burst. And so on.

Even if I am fed, I always play very carefully, since everything can blow me up immediately, even if they are behind. Meanwhile I have an easy and relaxed time playing juggernauts, since I can use damage and tankiness quite well to my advantage.

In the end, just don't care for the haters. People may tell me that she is just a "stupid rightclicker", this won't stop me from loving Jinx and keep playing her as my favourite marksman.

The only thing I get when read these coments is that they are braindead af and think that skillshot=skill, Varus isn't a noob champ, neither is a hated champ outside from the Gameplay Boards circlejerk. And yes, he is a traditional marksman despise buying ap-on hit right now and there's nothing wrong about that.

Honestly, just remove the Gameplay Boards.

I like how the same people that might hate on Varus praise Draven as this "High skill" and healthy champion.

Didn't know that automatically winning trades and auto winning lane when you rush BF sword is good design.

It because you are calling him Varus instead of Vaarus. His A should have another A next to it. There was a memo about this.

Tbh people that name themselves in relation to their mains make themselves easy targets. I played with a guy the other day who was a riven main and his name reflected it.

We ribbed him a little before game, harmless joking. He ended up getting dumpstered that game as Riven and the other team mates let him have it.

Nothing wrong with showing champion love, but you’re putting a target on. I don’t feel one or the other towards it, just an observation @ folks who try to personify a champion or related trivia to a champion pool.
