am i the only one who hates playing vs poppy?

the champion has no cooldowns or mana costs on her q and her base damage is fucking HUGE. as a melee, poppy literaly fucks the shit out of you.

even when i play riven i can outplay her w easily. the only thing i cant outplay is the huge poke that she has. her passive on top of q on top of the shied she gets from her passive.

if i try to get her shield she can e me into the wall and q mre for the 3rd time in 8 seconds and by then i need to leave.

why does she do so much damage for going full tank?

i actually despise how easily shes rewarded for being so easy to play.

Well Poppy has high base damage because tanks need that. As for higher damage as the game goes on, well Riven is pretty squishy so it isn't surprising you think that.

Plus her Q is health percentage damage. It helps her stay relevant. Building armor reduces the damage.

relevant? when my poppy can 1v1 my adc late game and melt him ebfore he can even react, it sort of says something.

i had 2 dorans blade and this champ still fucking outdamaged me while pressing 2 buttons. tanks dont need high base damage. thats why they are TANKS.

tanks dont need high base damage. thats why they are TANKS.

that's exactly why they need high base damage; they don't build any.

its like you're asking me to insult you.

tanks are tanks. they soak damage, they dont do damage. so why is it this season you get all these braindead fucks who go full tank and still outdamage others.

Tanks need to be a threat. Just being a big wall of meat isn't a threat.

They hurt people. Enough for people to realize "Oh shit, this dude hurts".

And if you bring up Darius, Garen, or any Juggernaut as a counter argument I swear you need to brush up on what exactly tanks are in general.

tank base damage hasn't changed at all lol. The only addition would be Grasp, which is usually picked up by juggernauts instead

there is not a single non-support tank that would be picked if they didn't have good base damage. that's what lets them exist in lane and be a threat in teamfights.

If you look at literally any tank in the game they have high base stats and damages, while having low damage scaling on most of their abilities. Their only strong scaling abilities are abilities that scale off HP or resistances.

Add to that as an ADC you typically have nothing in terms of resistances aside from your runes and base stats, which aren't much. A large number of tanks also deal magic damage, while ranged champions don't get any magic resistance growth in their leveling, so 30MR against large base damages really isn't going to block any sort of damage, so yeah you'll get blown up by tanks pretty quickly.

That's why peel is important for ADCs.

And tanks hurt squishies. You think building glass cannon makes you durable? Hell no.

Very few champions outside of support can't kill an ADC before they can react. They're squishy as hell.

As for your lifesteal, you need to actually hit her which is hard to do when stunned.

Future reference: respect the amount of damage a tank can do to you. Especially if you aren't building any resistances. You'll probably die less to them.

Hell, quite a few supports can stand a fairly good chance of winning the 1v1.

Using pre-rework Taric support to murder the enemy ADC (under their own towers) was one of my guilty pleasures.

I honestly wasn't sure which supports would be best for an example honestly.

Zyra, Annie, and Brand are definitely good examples due to their high burst damage. Sona works rather well too if she can afford to build Lich Bane.

Trundle, Leona and Tahm Kench can do so as well depending on the build and situation.

Poppy? That champion still exists? I barely ever see her at all in my games!

If anything, I'd WELCOME people playing as her.

even when i play riven

Wait, stop. There's your problem.

Poppy hard-counters Riven (this I know because I main Poppy). The best thing you can do is avoid picking Riven into Poppy. Some counters to Poppy are Gangplank, Quinn (assuming you respect her W and don't vault into it), and an honorable mention is Darius. And don't ever pick Aatrox or you're just asking to lose.
