What is Wit's End main purpose?

I feel it should be for magic resist shred, reason being you got Nashor's Tooth and Guinsoo's Rageblade which do the job of magic damage on hit better. Also on champions that want the item it becomes pretty toxic. Giving Kayle, Kog'Maw, and other on-hit users an extra 65 magic resist is questionable. So I think the item should be changed to make the situation where you want magic resist shred more useful.

item 3091 2600g item 3101 1200g & item 3211 1100g +250 Health +40 Magic Resist +40% Attack Speed +100% Base Health Regen +10% Cooldown Reduction

Unique Passive: Basic Attacks steal magic resist stacking up to 6 times for a total of 30. Unique Passive: After shredding 30 magic resist off an enemy champion enables wits end. Frenzy: Now that you're at your wit's end your auto attacks AND spells steal 30 magic resist right instantly. Lasts for X seconds, refreshes while in combat.

So champions like Kayle could be able to buy the item but they won't get the same amount of damage. The item also becomes a better option for other champions and isn't so extremely niche.

What is the purpose of Wit's End?

Edit: Downvoted with no one saying anything ;c

Lol did the change WE? item 3091

Last I knew it dealt bonus magic DMG on hit.

An increase in AS, On hit, plus MR? Works excellent for on hit builds. At least in Bronze.

No lol, it's just what I think a possible change to Wit's End could be to make it not so extremely niche. Do my changes seem legit? xD If so that's appreciated :s

I'd question the necessity of h.regen and CDR. It seems a lot of items have CDR so adding this stats to this item potentially raises the risk of abuse from champs that right now don't benefit from it with exception to champs listed by Alex's post.

The only other attack speed items are recurve bow and zeal, recurve is for on-hit damage while zeal is for crit chance. Stinger is just for the attack speed and CD so that's why I chose Stinger. And the goal of the item is to make it worth while choice for filling up an item slot on champions other than the on-hit ones.

Health is also a stat that other champions want to spec into, so that's why I went for Spectre's cowl to give some heal. Of course the item than has to compete with other Spectre's cowl items so it has to retain the regen and all that. I'm not talking about meta but CDR being abundant is just the meta so I'm fine with putting CDR on the item.

Spectre's cowl gives health regen btw, so removing that when you complete the item sounds bad.

But why? He has minimal magic damage and benefits from health stacking.

It is a low cost (2500), gives Magic resist (65 potential MR) deals damage, and attack speed (Sion has a very high base Attack Speed for some reason) but I build it only on a Trinity+Frozen Sion (which is how I play him mostly)

But for around the same cost you could get like a sterak's or a gargoyle's stoneplate.

The magic damage on autos is silly to focus on when you should have 40% cdr and be spamming your q.

I build him like that....Frozen Heart > Ninja Tabi/Mercury > Trinity Force > Wits End > Frozen Mallet > Titanic Hydra

in that particular build Wits End brings the most for its cost MR + AS for tytanic and wits intself

Wits is actually somewhat op on the appropriate champions

Kayle KogMaw Teemo Kennen come to mind

Might work in a silly Eve or Shyv build

But other than that it doesn't fit. Should a few champions hold an item back? But then what about wanting to get item 3115 first then?

I would think that item 3156 item 3139 would be better/

First off Tryndamere is all about staying alive with barely any health. Lifeline on Maw makes you take full use of the passive. Also one of the only things stopping Tryndamere is crowd control so you go scimitar if the enemy has major crowd control that you need to avoid.

You mean the maw build or the wit's end build?

Wits end is a good accelerated powerspike for on-hit champs against enemy compositions that have heavy magic damage. It also adds some utility in the MR shred, so its especially good for champs with hybrid damage in their kit Kayle Teemo KogMaw Kennen as it will cause their damage to ramp up with each him similar to cleaver for AD
