New jungle item. Concervationists Shield

An item for tank junglers that would also replace Poachers Knife. Basically, this item allows you to use smite on creeps, jungle monsters, and allies, when used on an ally it creates a green spikey barrier. This barrier reduces and reflects a portion of the damage dealt to you, this shield also scales with your own resistances.

And here's an example of what it could look like.

Do you mean it gives the person a thornmail in a sense? Or does it like redirect some damage done to that champion to you instead of them, cause that would be sweet

I think he means the latter, but it's worded very oddly.

"Reduce and reflect the damage dealt to YOU." If he does mean "Give someone some extra armor, and reflect X amount to me" That would be cool. The opposite of a Galio shield.

However, with the current wording I actually get a bit more excited.

"Place a shield on an ally. This shield gives an ally 75 armor, and reflects 15% of the damage you take to them." THAT would be interesting.

That'd be... weird, are we trying to save our ally or not?, it'd make more sense as "Give an ally 75 more armor, redirect 15% of the damage they take to YOU" since we're the tank, and we refuse to be ignored.

Nah, although it's kinda of boring in that sense, my idea was ti works a bit like Thornmail because the idea is that it's a good item for a tanky jungler to use on themselves to help with clearing.

It could be more like:

PASSIVE: Using Smite grants you a shield that gives X Armor and reflects Y% of damage received to the enemy for T seconds. If you use Smite on a target on an allied champion both you and the ally receive that shield.

Example: Using Smite grants you 34(+17/level) health Shield that gives 14(+2/level) Armor and refletcs 15% of the damage received to the enemies for 4 seconds. If you use Smite on a target on an allied champion both you and the ally receive that shield.

It makes jungling easier and grants an edge at ganking. It also has some outplay power.

Hhm, I like that though do you think it might be too powerful if it gives the full effect to both you and someone else? Perhaps it should give half effect to you and your target if used on someone else?

Well, I don't know. Ir doesn't give huge sustain as item 3713 , it doesn't give a powerfull slow as item 3706 nor makes you an awesome dueist as item 3715 . I could see that reduced to 2 seconds if used on an ally, as that would reduce its power against sustained damage instead of burst.

Or maybe something like:

PASSIVE: Using Smite on a monster grants you a shield that gives X Armor and reflects Y% of damage received to the enemy for T seconds. If you use Smite on a target on an allied champion both you and the ally receive that shield.

ACTIVE - On Ally Chanpions: Using Smite on a champion grants it a shield that gives X Armor and reflects Y% of damage received to the enemy for T seconds. If you use Smite on a target on an allied champion both you and the ally receive that shield.

It helps at jungling (what Tanks need), doesn't provide battle bonus so that fighters/assasins don't abuse it, and gives tanks a somewhat utility at teamfights.

Whether this happens for junglers or not, I think having an item to give some of your tankiness to a team mate sounds friggin amazing.

Then I imagine a full build tank using it on an ADC...

I think it would be better if it worked sort of like a cross between exhaust and Botrk, like if you smite an enemy they deal less damage or maybe have less penetration and you gain Armor/MR based on how much AD/AP they have.
