Do you know for how long Jayce had over a 50 % winrate in 1½ year?

...1 week. His playrate and banrate is and always was both low. Can he please get buffed soon - he was actually in a good spot before preseason, but LW rework hit him hard, especially in Midlane. Maybe his Shockblast could get some armor pen, perhaps 20-25 %, as the poke even when fed does very mediocre damage when your innate armor scales up.

Alternatively, make him really tanky at the cost of some damage in Hammer form, making it a bigger decision which stance you are in

Manamune/Murumana buffs (stack time) are also very welcome. An active so your next skill does 25 % extra damage, at the cost of 25 % mana?

I've played against some pretty impressive Jayce players and I think he's in a good spot but is a complex champion. He isn't meta so knowing when and when not to use him is a crucial key to playing Jayce I don't think many users of him understand.

He's good when the strategy is to poke down people or fish for roots using Lux or Morg. He's also incredibly good vs soft engage as he just smacks people away. He is however very squishy and doesn't scale well into late game as he builds straight damage.

Very Hard Engage1 votes

personally, i believe he would benefit moreso from faster switches, and that would be very powerful for him. everything about him is really good.

The provlem with jayce (and almost all other "transforming champs") is that he is incredibly hard to balance due to his 2 sets of skills

Hence the sub-50 % winrate forever. He will always be "UP", and to play him well you will need more practice than with almost any other champion. He was "below average" before preseason, but still very playable. Now he is very hard to do well with and carry, due to how little damage he gets when ahead, compared to say a Zed, Talon or Yasuo

Its the change in items specifically last whisper that gutted him

ive played jayce alot. I think he is pretty good right now. He just isnt that popular. He does plenty of damage and if you play him right then you can win most matchups. although i mostly go top with him. i just dont see mid as a good spot for him.

I just played a game and did really well vs a Fizz in mid (he is Plat 5 vs me, G4). I went without Tear this time, started corrupting potion into Essence reaver, to at least have some mana, This is also the build i would use for Top/ADC Jayce. Is it the best build or which do u use?

for me i wouldnt really build any crit items. Jayce is more of a poke down then burst them out of nowhere. like early game i usually stay in bow form to poke them as much as possible and when im lvl 3 and jump on them with the hammer it does massive damage. Now since you were against fizz i see why it wouldnt be as easy to do that so maybe going crit first and then maybe like hexdrinker after would be good. I usually rush tear into muramana. Jayce does enough damage early imo so you dont need to build damage at the beginning. After manamune i sometimes go to youmuus for the AD and CDR. Black cleaver is a option after that too. It depends on who im laning against. i never really try to build tanky early. i always rush tear. cuz once you get manamune thats all the mana youll need. i mean whatever works for ya. when i go top i build item 3004 item 3142 item 3071 (black cleaver is good for his W on his cannon since you get can 3 shots so 3 stacks then switch to hammer and finish them) jayce is pretty bursty and snowballs veryy well. ive never really tried him adc just top and mid

Well he's a pretty complex champion with the transformations. I would be worried if he had a 50 win rate.

But high-skillcap assassins like Zed and Fizz have a 50+ winrate, and so did Riven and Yasuo recently. Jayce has never been OP like that, and i dont want him too, but just viable. Honestly a fed Jayce had insane poke and good burst before, but now his poke is mediocre no matter what. Compare to an MF, that when she is has early BF and hits her Q through a dying minion, u are down to 40 %. Jayce, who could be built to poke, now hardy can do that in 2 acc. shockblasts even when fed

Is his unviablilityy towards the community really stopping him from being Viable to you?

I main Sion and usually take him jg. Sometimes he isn't viable in the game, but I enjoy playing him.

Zed, Yasuo, and Riven have very exciting kits and character types that attract people. Jayce has a confusing kit (six abilities, tried him once and I couldn't see what was fun about him) and his personality is of the genius pretty boy with a smug grin (that's more of a personal thing. His face is very punchable to me).

If you like the champ, just play them. Why care about their winrate or the opinions of others?

If you have fun playing him, play him.

I play him still in normals and SoloQ, but when i go DuoQ with a (bit) higher ranked friend with me, or play ranked team with Diamond 5 ppl, i need a champion that does well, and i can perform good on. Jayce used to be my to-go champion for that, i could play him (im Gold 4) vs Diamonds without much problem, go even in CS and sometimes kill them because they underestimate me. Now i can no longer do that cuz of his nerfs - i simply am not strong enough without heavy snowballing. I can now only play Syndra and Xerath vs Diamonds/high Plats, and they are easier to punish. I just need Jayce at his late Season 5 level, which was balanced, to really be effective again.

To me, he IS fun to play and i play him. But if i do so vs high lvl playes, i get stomped and that is not fun :(

Can't help you there. I don't play ranked because I don't want to not be able my favorite champions just so I can win.

I play for fun. If I'm not having fun, then why play?
