How Does Skill Flash Combo Work?

Shukuchi··2 votes·2,753 views

I was watching an Ahri guide and noticed one of the combo was a flash+charm and flash+orb. How do you do that? Do you cast the skill and then flash? Or do you flash in then land in your skill? Also, if you were to flash at the sides, how are you suppose to land on your skillshot on the enemy?

Do you do this: summoner 4 then charm?

Or:

Charm then summoner 4

Think about it.

X=you Y=enemy O=charm ---- = distance

X-------------Y Charm before flash:

----X--O--Y

Charm after flash:

----X----Y----O

The first one casts charm from your initial point, flashing afterwards is pointless as the point of the flash was to close the distance to get in range to charm. You've missed charm.

Flash firsts gets you in range and charm hits.

At the same time tho? Like flash and the last seconds you charm?

The guy below me described it well, but it takes extreme skill. I'd focus on more important skills like kiting and CSing as well as warding/decision making before you perfect a very niche mechanic.

I'm guessing with Ahri that you'd flash first, since they're skill shots and would be cast from original point, and not flash point. I think you cast the ability, then flash with champions like Shen/Lee Sin/Gragas/Vi, who have connection based abilities.

charm then immediately flashing will cancel the animation of charm and the charm will come from where you ended up, you can also vary the timing a bit more to have the charm leave from your original location if you're trying to escape, it's a split second difference in timing, the same thing works with Q.

flash is instant and can be used whenever. (unless impaired)

any ability with a cast time/animation which effects takes place after the animation, you can

cast -> flash -> effect occurs at new location right away.

When you cast E there's a blue bar that shows up briefly showing that you're casting Charm, like a really really short channel. You press E and then flash before the bar finishes and Ahri will immediately E after the flash without the bar.

most skills have atleast 0.25sec cast time, if you flash in that time you instantly cast the skill after flash, kinda negateing the cast time thus leaving your opponent with less time to react. If you want cast a skillshot into a different direction than flash(like flashing sideways to get your charm around some minions), you need to have really fast mechanics though, as it takes the aim from the initial skillshot cast, so you have to cast the skillshot into the direction you want him to go after the flash, and then you flash.
