Poppy rework is Extremely fun to play.

but the passive doesn't seem to match her old passive and its very clunky. the passive on the W is underwhealing. please buff these. and make the AOE on the Q better

Honestly, I really do not like her new rework. Hear me out first before you all downvote me to hell.

Couple main things

  1. It wasn't a big enough rework to pretty much completely change her (Like Sion) and, to me, feels like just a worse version of her past self, minus the insanely fun ult
  2. Her new ult is just plain worthless -It barely does any damage -It only knocks enemies towards their own base, which honestly doesn't do anything but help them. Its like if bard ult also teleported them far away. The damage isn't enough to kill and it just gives them an escape. -The cd on it is insane for how little value you get from it. Having to wait 120 seconds just to save the enemy again is ridiculous to me -The ult itself is very slow moving, and ive seen many people just able to walk out of the line -Had a few problems with the charging of it as well. Have it not go off and still be put on the long cooldown
  3. Her q, my god her q. Removed ap ratios and its no longer a targeted hit but just a slam on the ground. It really only feels effective when you stun them against the wall. Any other time I have just found the enemy is moving and the q misses. I really miss the satisfying wap of her old q
  4. Her W - I like the concept a lot but it doesn't seem to last long enough to be that beneficial.
  5. All of her abilities when combined together in combat just seem clunky.

Those are just a few reasons why I don't care for the rework, and maybe it could be because of how much I loved playing that little invulnerable wap goblin. But I just feel like I wont be playing the new Poppy very much, if at all. (probably only when I get her in an aram)

I agree about the clunky skill combinations.

Her Q is now a skill shot so when you dash in, you have to make sure your mouse is right on them if you actually want to hit them.

Her ult is definitely weak right now. 200 damage at level 6 with a terrible ratio and long charge time and long CD. The idea is great but its numbers need buffed to make up for the difficulty using it.

She also has no real clear role. Her jungle clear is great but meh ganks. Most top lanes poke her out of lane and her farm is still not that good cause of the CD on her passive. Picking up the shield is also a pain. Its random direction can also be a huge issue because RNGesus can determine whether you can get it back or not.

Fun to play? I have to disagree. A tank that has low damage, low cc, and mediocre tankiness (not to mention the clunky passive like you mentioned) doesn't really make my list of fun champs to play.

i mean shes cool. maybe because we're just hyped. but i get your point. this game is either bruisers or tanks. I feel like poppy should be. something more like vi. she should be a lil more tanky. and do a lil more damage. which old poppy did both. actually i would like to see this poppy do even more damage. but its really. late game poppy doesn't do much damage AT ALL. the AD needs to scale with the % health damage otherwise idk

I was excited for the rework, but I don't get what she's even supposed to do. She has way too little utility to be a full tank, and way too little damage to be a Darius-style champ. Her passive is frustrating, her q is her only solid-damage spell and often doesn't even hit twice, her dash range is too low and her ult is just terrible all around (rarely useful, low damage, high cooldown).

she has a great early game tho. I was renekton and she rekt me. literally. one trade at level 5. took me down to 10% of my health. shes really strong early. but what makes her weak later is that the % scaling and her scaling with bonus ad is not good at all to make it worth.

Only played Poppy once so far, and as a support at that, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt. But here they are:

  1. Passive ranged attack is nice for trades in lane, but doesn't feel all that useful past that point. Sure, the shield is nice in theory, but ultimately, I never had time to bother with picking it up in teamfights. If I ever got it, it was only by accident, which I feel kind of defeats the purpose. Maybe it's because I hadn't really adjusted to that part of her kit yet, though. I dunno.

  2. The Q feels a little awkward. Too short to do much with in a teamfight (i.e. everyone is busy moving around!), though the extra damage was all right when I had someone pinned against a wall. Honestly, maybe it'd be better if it were targeted, but cast in a line between you and the target when you used it, if you wanted to keep the AoE functionality.

  3. The dash prevention on W seemed kind of awesome, but I wasn't against a dash-heavy team, so I never had occasion to use it. (It was blind pick, okay?) The speed boost was super nice for getting onto targets or positioning for an E though. No complaints here.

  4. E is pretty much the same, and I still love it. It's super useful in side lanes, especially when combo'd with W and an incoming gank. Also loved ruining Malzahar's day with this. (Because screw Malzahar, am I right?)

  5. I've actually no major qualms with her R, except it took me a couple tries to get the feel down just right. No, it doesn't do great damage, but I did find it was 1) an excellent disengage, and 2) great for setting up picks in teamfights. When landed "just right", her ult is completely unique, and completely gamechanging. So far, I love it.

I didn't do great damage, but I didn't expect to. I built pure tank-support. It was an enjoyable experience on the whole, and I felt reasonably effective in team fights, though I felt a few parts of her kit could've used a bit of tweaking. Can't really comment on Poppy in a traditional top role, because I haven't tried that yet!

Honestly, I think the passive shield should have it's "hit box" increased so you don't have to get to a single goddamn pixel to grab it. And while the Q's AoE could probably stand to be increased they would probably take something away from it to compensate, and I'd rather they didn't.

Her passive is nothing like her old passive (which was harder to understand by comparison), but idk, new poppy has much more defensive options with her kit (the slow, the AOE dash-stun, her E if utilized well, and ultimate) to the point where I don't think she needs more.

I might be inclined to agree with your other points but I haven't played the rework yet.
