How long after scoring a ward takedown (or assist) do I have to apply the bonus damage? Is it indefinite?

What happens if I have scored a ward takedown, and I takedown another ward before applying the bonus damage to an enemy champion? Is the damage the same or does it stack?

Is there any cooldown after applying the bonus damage that I must wait to acquire the buff again?

I think I know the answers to these questions, but I actually haven't used this rune because it didn't seem that good.

It lasts indefinitely until applied, which could be anywhere from instantly after to the very end of the game. I do not believe it stacks, nor does it have a cooldown. You do have to apply it, though, through some attack on a valid target.
