Tanks, with love, the tanks of LoL

FYI -

  1. Tanks (juggernauts and bruisers) are mostly slow. On purpose (for exceptions see Garen and Singed). If we get snared, stunned, grabbed, etc., we are likely dead. Stop complaining about a tank 'feeding' when all you damage types run away from the 4 v 4 because the assassins are scary and you leave your tank behind to die. Especially if the tank only has 1-2 more deaths than anyone else on the team, SUPER especially if the tank has less deaths than YOU. If you do this last bit, you are definitely going to be in bronze a LOOOOONG time.

  2. Technically part of number 1 - most tanks don't build much damage. Tanks build health and armor. If you see a tank building damage early, they are either in a solo lane/jungle, or supporting a completely idiotic ADC. Hence in that 4 v 4 you ran from, the tank has no f'ing chance.

  3. Support tanks tend to be especially screwed (lately moreso) due to high mobility champions. If the enemy team is Pyke, Vayne, Quinn, Talon, and Yi, odds are the tanks is going to die. A lot. Probably saving YOUR rear end from dying so you can (ha) carry (haha).

  4. STAND BEHIND YOUR TANK. In other words, visually the order should be you, tank, enemy (-ies) on the screen. If it is not, you are out of position and need to run, or you are covering your tank who has 2 hp so they don't die. Your tank might, if they are in a good mood, come back to save your bacon if they are feeling generous and you hang around a fight too long. See also #1.

  5. Slightly seperate. A supports job is to keep the rest of the team alive and try not to die in the process. However, support is the role most likely to 'feed' because of this and the general nerfing of everything they can do to support you, because in many cases this also supports THEM. They also tend to run into awkward and inadvisable situations to try and save you from that 1 v 5 you stumbled into. Again, trying to do their job tends to get them killed. Occupational hazard. If YOU are playing smart, your support won't die a lot. Capisce?

Tanks again for reading. If you made it this far, and understand, you should play support more. If you jumped to the bottom for the TL;DR, you should go back to playing Yasuo, Yi, or Garen.

Are you talking about Tanks, Juggernauts, and bruisers? If so you should know that Juggernauts are bruisers. If you're calling bruisers Tanks that's not accurate either, as "bruiser" champions have a lot higher damage than tanks, and depending on the subclass can have higher mobility and as well.

Interesting read though, and I will go back to playing Garen.

Juggernaut/Bruisers as a sub-set kind of thing. Couldn't figure out how to say it right. :p

They are all subsets of the Fighter class to be specific, given their role in the game as a source of DPS rather than as a utility machine like true Tanks.
