Honestly, why dont we just get good ourselfves rather than waiting on them to get bad?

Waiting for the enemy to make a mistake is exactly what good players do. Every competitive sport is taking advantage of your enemy's mistakes. If you get a goal by being aggressive, your enemy made the mistake of not respecting your offensive power. If you get a goal off a rebounded enemy goal attempt, your enemy made the mistake of not respecting your defense.

The same goes for League. Every kill, every objective, every win or loss stems from mistakes.

no since when you are always good and do something bad, someone will do something twice as bad without hesitation

Sometimes, especially in Bronze-Gold elo, once you've fallen behind the only option is to wait for your opponent to screw up. You aren't going to "git gud" as a team within the span of the match, so you have to use the strats that will work.

Your point remains valid, of course, in the long run; you just have to understand that sometimes there are just limitations to the ways your team will be able to cooperate, both at a player skill level as well as at a compositional level.

But thats playing on luck and chances are against you. Playing safe is always valid having a lead or not. What bothers me is people that believe there will be a lategame when the enemy team is taking all objectives and pushing the towers to inhibitor and decide to turtlr hard behind the towers. The mistakes happen like 1 in every god knows how many matches but relying on luck to win the game for you is not good at all. Make their mistakes happen by catching some of guard, don't hope they'll just dc or try to dive into the whole team. Thinking the mass lane push wont come.

You should never play safe when you have a lead. That's how you lose.

Waiting for your opponent to make a mistake doesn't necessarily mean being strictly reactive. Setting up picks, maintaining vision control, "deathball roaming," etc. are all effective, proactive ways to punish mistakes... and even force a few. But again, it is dependent on your composition to be able to pull it off. If you have a Tryndamere top and a Zed mid who are both behind, Deathballing probably won't work. You have to be able to understand both your team compositions strengths and have some idea of your teammates skills to decide what will work; going full aggro ARAM-style when you're down 7k gold is almost always a mistake, but just sitting in your base for the next 15 minutes won't win you the game, either.

Because Rift is a fundamentally defensive map. You win by punishing mistakes and taking objectives while you have a numerical advantage.

If you're behind I guess it's safer to wait for them to slip up. If you're ahead tho, you should be trying to make a play. I feel you tho

There's everything wrong with this thread...

Highlights how little people know about proper team play and the most basic of math behind the game.
