Why do you ban champs?

Was thinking a out this earlier, and was wondering if other people use their ban the same way I do. So, boards people, why do you ban something in champ select?

I ban champions that are boring to face. Namely Lux or Ahri. That matchup is sooooo dull. And they are too popular. I could care less about OP picks unless they are so oppressive they simply cannot be dealt with. I just hate being bored all game.
