The biggest issue with League is the mentality of League's players.
The new champions are op and mine aren't: Well, possibly...but most likely not. Most likely, however, people have this massive victim-complex when it comes to newer champs vs. older champs. Every new champ's reaction is either "Riot added THIS? This breaks the game. Riot's retarded. Fuck these guys. Fire the balance team for what the champion creation team did." or it's a shit ton of cricket sounds because no one wants to play some barely-there champion like Ivern or new Yorick. Think on it objectively when I ask "What does Yorick even bring to the game that you can't already supplement by just picking Nasus?" "What does Ivern do in this game that's actually interesting?" Of course no one gives a shit about these champs because they're not exciting champs. Meanwhile, when Riot adds something that's actually cool and new, people bitch to the heavens about it. "Man, Akali can go undetected by turrets until she attacks? GG TURRETS ARE USELESS" like these stacks of brick and mortar were saving you from Ekko and Zed dives before now. Loosen up already. I kinda WISH we'd see some fresh new ideas for my play style of champions, but I doubt that'll ever happen.
Damage is way too high: No, people just don't pick tankier champs/safer builds. What was the argument months before now, again? If I'm an assassin, and I'm diving a squishy with no defenses, it should be easy for me to pop that guy. Now the argument is "I shouldn't be popped ever, even when building no defenses." Like...no. When you don't build to survive, you won't survive. Lowering damage across the board is a childish and short-sighted "solution" to a problem we don't have. Maybe if your top/jg combo wasn't
your team would be able to stand being in a fight for longer than 2 seconds. Maybe if you built defensively when up against your weaker match-ups, you wouldn't be 0/6? Idk, but it's something you can address by just playing smarter.
Comebacks are impossible: Blatantly untrue. Now, if you pick some shit like Pantheon while you have Zed mid and Lucian bot, sure...you better not lose the lead. However, depending on your team comp and how the match plays out, it's possible to come back from the brink. How possible? Hell if I know, and why should that be a thing that you can put a hard number on? A comeback is supposed to be earned. Comebacks aren't something Riot should hand to you on a platter. That'd take all the achievement out of the comeback, so then what's the point? You guys need to complain less about games being decided at 5 minutes and try to make it not decided by 5 minutes. Game isn't over a 1:4 or 2:6.
Game times are too short: Honestly, I don't agree. In my last 6 ranked games, 3 of them were 30 minutes or higher, and 3 of them were less than 30 minutes. Shorter games definitely felt a good bit more stompy than the longer games, but that's relatively fine (relatively). League exercises a number of skills, and these skills mostly sum up to "how you're going to snowball your advantages". Early game champs NEED quicker games because they eventually get out-gunned. Late game scalers like longer games, however, because even if they won't win early, they can turn on a bit later and stat-stick people to death. There needs to be a solid middle ground between the early champs and the late champs and 30 minute average times is honestly the best sweet spot. Seriously. If games are too long on average, like season 5, champs like Renekton and Pantheon effectively cease to exist. If games are too short, the opposite becomes true and late game champs bite the dust. 30 minute average game times gives room for early game champs to occasionally run away with games, but it also gives room for late game champs to occasionally snatch games up for themselves. I see nothing wrong with Riot aiming for 30 minutes as the sweet spot.
Fire Riot employees: This is honestly just disgusting behavior and this is me putting that out there. Grow up. Not even going to be constructive about this one. Just grow up.
