MMR is a big F U to players

Basically if you are good enough to maintain a certain rank, but are having a hard time climbing, you will be punished by making sure that your wins eventually award you less LP then what you lose with a loss.

I'm sorry, but if you are winning half of your matches and just hovering at a rank, why in the hell do you get punished like that?

If you're at the correct MMR for your division you'll gain the same LP jumps for a loss and win.

I see your frustration, but I don't think you quite understand how the system works. Each rank has it's own mmr range. I don't know exact numbers, but lets pretend bronze 1 is 1000 mmr. If you are in bronze 1, and have 900 mmr, you will lose more lp and gain less per win, which should bring you back to your correct rank, according to the system. However, if you have 1100 mmr, the exact opposite happens. I for example have more mmr, according to op.gg's estimates, then the average gold 3 player, and as such I gain around 24 lp per win and lose about 18.

It's working as intended, I promise

Yup, as intended to make climbing difficult as possible so people play more games, eventually play more champions and buy more skins. Yup, as intended!

I checked your match history. First thing first, you have a negative winrate. Second, according to op.gg, your mmr is a good deal lower then the average gold 5 player. Now the system op.gg uses isn't 100% accurate nor is it official, but its pretty close. The negative winrate alone tells me you have the correct mmr. It isn't riot trying to make you buy more skins, it's the simple fact that you lose more than you win, so of course your mmr will go down, as will your lp gains.

EDIT: Checked some of your games. You are constantly put with mid-low silver players. This is another effect and evidence of your low mmr.
