Bard has been out for almost a year now...

As a Bard main, it infuriates me that people still dont know what his W Shrine is or what it does.

I hate placing shrines at top/mid/jungle camp just to have my teammate walk over it at full health and say "Oh sorry. I didnt know what that was".

Should I be expected to educate my teammates about my champion? (Especially in ranked, where this happens most often. Yes, due to the reset, I am B3. Ended last season S3. Still, no excuse to not know champions)

That sounds frustrating. Idk you might try and tell people what it does b4 games starts but you'll probably get the same response: "dude wtf you think I'm a noob stfu". If you climb to gold then people will definitely know how to utilize your w. Ranked is a little crazy right now. I am currently S2 and, not to discourage you, but it can be pretty bad. I took a break to try out some new positions in normals and it has been a good time. You might want to consider the same until things settle out in ranked.

Always tell them what they do. I do and they actually let the shrines grow. Now those players know what they do. I remember playing old shen support and telling them what his q "vorpal blade" did which allowed teammates to heal off wherever I placed my blade on a opponent or unit that are attacked.

So let me clarify things here since you don't seem to understand how low elo ranks work (And I am basing this from your rank division which is currently Bronze 3)

  • Most of the time, they are people who just play for fun from time to time. They DON'T READ what spells do. They see what they do and learn from that. Monkey see monkey do.

  • Bard is 6300 IP which is expansive enough for low level people

  • What do you expect them to do when they see something on the floor ? Run on it ? Let me say that there are plenty of spells that activate on when running on them and most of the time they aren't clear if you dont take the time to read their effect.

How could I know that Akali's cloud would slow ennemies when they are near ? How could I know that Jayce's lightning gate would speed allies when running on it ? How could I know that Thresh's lantern would be like a transporter ? How could I know that Tham Kench could eat us to protect us and teleport ?

  • I have tons of friends that are unranked - Bronze - Silver that don't READ what spells do. The reason is because we speak mainly french and it bothers them to read english texts.

  • My friend's nephew (he's 9 year old) is basically Bronze 5 and solely RELIES ON TEAM COMMUNICATION in order to do well.

So before getting frustrated, make it clear that you can heal your allies if they step on your healing Globes.

u just dont understand how painful it was watching ur adc flashing over ur lantern

Thats why I type it in chat at the start of every game. Takes no time at all and stops the pain.

It's ok Bard, calm down.
