Observations on Yasuo play patterns

We're all familiar with HASAGI! double Q tornado get rekt, omg his shield and god my skill shots keep getting blocked by that gas secretion. I fucking loathe like the concept of Yasuo, I've always gotten cheesed never had too much trouble dealing with him on even terms, but when I see Yasuo fed as fuck outplays, it trends toward a particular circumstance:

If Yasuo has a minion wave available, he can stall a trade significantly longer and get off more Q's, HASAGI's! and fart bombs than most play pattern trades without having to explicitly run away from you, just run around you; which in turn is probably way more frustrating than trying to run someone down. A more seasoned Yasuo main can almost make it feel like he moves from strength to strength with no windows of opportunity to exploit while laning.

Psychologically seeing someone run away faster allows you to come to terms and just disengage, but if they're running circles around you, tunnel vision will set in as the kill taunts: so close yet so far. Commando Yi gets baited twice by this before picking a better environment to engage where Yasuo cannot stall his trades and dies like any scrub on the rift. Which is why some people feel he's broken and why others know he's not that bad: given the circumstance. From this perspective it feels very understandable why both sides cannot see eye to eye because essentially both are right.

There are many things that people like to focus on that bother them, but maybe what Riot needs to do is address his lopsided power/vulnerability inside and outside minion waves, because he can stall his weaknesses all to well when they're around and gets crushed outside of it. The simplest way I can think of is to cap how many times he dashes, like Ivern bushes or Donger turrets, then buff another aspect of his kit that better enables him in open fights.

I don't play Yasuo so I cannot voice what that would be, cue Yasuo mains to tell us what they would feel could make Yasuo stronger in open fights to compensate capping his dash for fairer laning.

If you're interested in impartial discussion, Yasuo is a great topic because his strengths and weaknesses aren't as easily clearcut for exploitation as other champs, making it more interesting to delve into the vagueness of his balance issues perceived by the community and their genuine frustrations.

If you're looking for nerf/buff projectile click bait vomit, I'm afraid I can't help.
