Hi everyone,

What are the most important overarching concepts in League of Legends to learn in order to become a better player in your opinions? A top 10 list or something like that would be ideal. Examples would be last hitting, zoning, etc.

Thanks!

3: Map Awareness 2: Attitude 1: Game Knowledge 1: Last Hitting 1: Builds 1: Aggression 1: Positioning 1: Teamwork 1: Rotation 1: Adaptability 1: Micro vs Macro

Last hitting

How to build your champion to the game you're in.

Keeping a positive attitude.

Map awareness

Knowing when to play aggressively, and when to play passively

Thanks for the answer, edited into the OP. Keep 'em coming!

Map awareness should be on top imao.

But its hard to tell, really. Builds... depends on what mistakes you make. Your build may not be optimal, but work to some extent. Attitude is important, but cant replace skill. Its all subjective

Edited, thanks! What about other mechanical skills besides last hitting?

Sunfield2 votes

Not that important. There are platinum players that just stick with champions that dont demand a great mechanical skill and have a great success with them because they have game knowledge.

Ah yes, there should be game knowledge on your list. On the top spot imo.

Added Game Knowledge. The list is in order of what's suggested most!

Game knowledge is important; knowing your match ups and when you get powerspikes or when the other team has them, knowing your team composition and how your team or your enemy is going to want to play based on their champions, and how you can play around that.

Adaptability. How a player reacts to certain scenarios, ability to play into and out of a role, etc.

Definitely added, thanks!

I would add in positioning, mechanics, teamwork, and rotations onto that.

Added! Mechanics is a bit too broad a term for what I'm looking for; what might you say to break it into parts?

Situation/map awareness. Knowing what's happening around you on both a micro and macro scale is absolutely critical.

  1. Stay the fuck calm and polite.
  2. Gold = power, you should always ask yourself "how can I be richer right now".
  3. Similarly, Gold = power for the enemy team too, not dieing is better than going 1-1 (since it then makes your team's job impossible).
  4. Finding one champion/role that you enjoy.

I'd say these are my top 4.

Added a point to attitude, I'm going to include Gold = Power in game knowledge. Thanks!
