Riot you really didn't think ahead at all (This is also kind of my review for the new patch)

It's painstakingly obvious that several players aren't liking the changes to this patch mostly to the jungle and I myself don't care for the dragon changes but do you ever stop and think that making such massive changes to your game would actually spark a huge outcry in your playerbase? I mean honestly there are so many people who play this game and radically changing the jungle while ripping out items we are also use to building and using it hard to adapt to. I don't even want to get started on the new smite system (Which by the way I've already heard that people are starting to go smite on support champions) which I agree is effective since supports can smite enemy champions in lane to help increase overall damage potential but still it sound so crazy when you think about it or say to yourself "Smite on a support....why the very notion is insane" I know it's still League of Legends but the jungle changes, baron changes, dragon changes it just isn't nearly at all the same to me.........the meta is literally changing overnight now and for players like myself it's very nerve wracking to see such radical changes happen in one night.

I jungle a lot but now I have to practice a learn a completely new jungle system which I'm not really looking forward to and do I like the jungle changes well I do thing some of them are practical and good ideas but I really didn't mind the old jungle system. I was so comfortable with the old game that now it feels like I have to start completely over from square one and learn how to jungle again also I play support sometimes so now I have to get use to taking smite in lane ON A SUPPORT (I just can't get over how that's going to be the new meta for supports now)

The new elixir system seems strange but it's not such a radical change that it makes the game feel completely different though I actually do agree with these changes because I thought the old red and blue elixirs were pointless and not very effective so getting some elixirs that help with pushing or increasing damage is a welcomed change so I give you points for that.

I could write half a page or more on the dragon system but I'll just say I don't care for it after playing a match the opposing team scored the first dragon kill and it gave them such a huge damage spike my team couldn't do anything so I feel as though whoever gets dragon first gets a huge boost in winning the game (though I'm not saying it's impossible to win if you don't get the first dragon kill) I do think it lowers your chances somewhat which isn't very good for team morale at all. I had zero problems with the old dragon system and didn't mind the global gold because at least if you lost a dragon in the old system the worst that happened is you were behind in gold but now if you don't get dragon kills you pretty much become SIGNIFICANTLY WEAKER against the other team not only do they get a damage spike on the first kill but after the second kill they get bonus damage to monsters so guess what that means? that's right they'll CS way faster than you and your team which is awful to think about and after another kill they can start ripping through your turrets like tissue paper. The amount of pushing power for lanes this season is insane to the point where you could probably win games at incredible speeds now compared to the old system which didn't have nearly the pushing power we have in this patch.

For my final thoughts I'm really not pleased with the majority of the changes in this game it will take me awhile to adapt to them and even then I can't say if It will ever feel as fun as the old system for me which is sad since I really did enjoy the old system and had zero problems with it but when you radically change everything and the meta shifts overnight it just is so much to take in all at once. I know that preseason is a sort of testing phase so I'm hoping that once you collected all your feedback and data you'll make some much needed changes or maybe you'll see that some of the changes you made were unnecessary and pointless.

I feel like you commented that just to spite me well congrats it worked but everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I'm not saying that I won't get use to the new jungle changes (and like yourself some people have told me it doesn't take long to get use to it) but that's not really my point. My point is just I felt like the changes were unnecessary (also some players have even said that the new machete especially the Skirmish Saber I believe is incredibly broken or stupid broken) but I'll have to try out different junglers and test the different machetes honestly I'm sure I can adapt and even get to the point where I start to like or enjoy the new jungle system but I still don't think it was something they had to implement honestly I was fine with the old jungle system but that's just me.

The new jungle is better. It may be more difficult for you to understand and if you don't like that you don't have to jungle. The jungle role was stagnating really hard and these changes are finally mixing things up a bit.

Is it strange if I didn't notice? I do play jungle a lot and I had no problem with the old jungle maybe I'm just weird but honestly if people who main jungle are saying the new jungle is better well I'm not sure if I can argue with them since I really didn't main jungle per say but It was probably my second most played position.

The new jungle was released for one day. People are still looking for the most optimum way to do it. Wait a week or 2 to see how the jungle is shaping up. First day impressions are pretty much never accurate.

I'm glad with the jungle changes and the baron/dragon/smite changes and I am glad the meta is shifting because I hope that this will become like S1 where there was no enforced meta and we didn't have meta acolytes telling us what we can and can't do I actually won top with Garen versus a Shyvana using the new jungle and elixirs to bully her out of lane and push her into the floor. just give it time and you will come to love it. It really is a good area now that you have the ability to do just about whatever you want in the jungle. Not to mention people like Nunu is good along with anyone really.

I feel like I'm just so lost and the best way to adapt is to experiment but I simply just don't want to experiment I would rather someone write out a guide for me like utilizing jungle items on laning champions (such as how you used it for Garen for instance) See I wouldn't know exactly what to build if I wanted to play that build for him, would I still be able to do my standard BC and SFC build on him? or is the meta going to deem that I build him with a machete since that is more effective? See that's my problem people will be building so many new builds on champions it's almost as if all my current builds for champions are going right into the trash. I hate having to start over with builds it's like everything I did in Season 4 is completely worthless now and we all have to start over from scratch..................I didn't ask for this

The way I built him was I started with flash smite and got the item that deals true damage with each AA (I'd rather get the item to slow and deal reduced true damage) then I got the newly buffed Ohmwrecker which is really powerful now. I then went for another item because the jungle item I used gave armor pen (but i'd recommend the Black Cleaver.) Game was over by then. if you would like me to write you a guide for a certain champion I definitely could. I have already done played: Nunu, and Master Yi.

Also if you would like me to explain the jungle and what creeps do I could do that too.

It is literally the first day of the preseason. Wait about a week before you start going on full rants like this. People are still trying new things and finding out what is effective and what isn't.

I personally feel like it is really important that Riot does this every year. By changing up the game so much it reintroduces that sense of wonderment we got when we were first learning how to play the game. Not to mention the fact that these changes can make the game better as a whole.

The preseason has just begun so sit back and watch the madness. There is still plenty of time to sort it out and have it ready for the competitive season.

Final Remnant 1 votes

Yes I did touch on the fact that preseason is a time for experimenting and testing but I don't know that doesn't sit well with me all these radical changes. I don't think that everyone wants to start over from scratch and learn how to play again It might be a difference of viewpoint or opinion and while I do agree that adding fresh ideas into a game is good at the same time I think there are also negatives as well which Riot failed to look at or consider.

It is not starting from scratch though, it is basically the same jungle just with different items and extra bonuses on camps. The jungle has been changed pretty much every season. Every season the playerbase grows bigger and bigger. Have some faith in Riot, they are good at this.

Is this your first season?

Final Remnant 1 votes

No it's my second honestly I can't even remember when I started playing but I want to say it was right when Season 4 started or around that time if not at the end of Season 3

This reminds me of s1 when real champions were the only thing played. I don't consider any champion released after Xin Zhao to be a serious addition to league since they were all either Rushed, or LCS big play centric.

I'm loving the changes.

As for supports taking smite. Might as well forget it, there are just too many better options. The only reason to take smite into lane is if you're against Teemo.
