So, I saw a Zed in a 2v1 lane and...

Teambuilder. My friend goes midlane Zed against Syndra. I go botlane as Thresh against a Zed alone ( I had Jinx adc with me in lane ofc). Both Zeds are platinum, so while they aren't competitive material, they also aren't total trash.

Either my platinum friend is complete garbage, or the enemy Zed was underrated, because througout the lanephase botlane Zed managed to stay within a 15 cs range of the midlaner Zed , while harassed, costantly under 50% health. Keeping him under his turret doesn't work, since his passive works well at execute minion (add shuriken if the turret is going to steal). keeping him frozen in lane doesn't work, he just sends the shadow against caster minions, and shadows shuriken on melee minions.

Now, I always said that Zed had a too easy farm for a midlaner, but I wouldn't have expected that he could be proficient also in a 2v1 scenario. And we aren't talking about a perfect Zed who missed all skillshots, he got grabbed , flayed andzapped (dodged traps tho). Sure, high skillcap, but the farm is easy mode.

high skill cap low skill flow

long range poke and minion execution and manaless u know what that sounds to me? if Nasus was manaless...

Give it some time, people will eventually theorycraft ways to counter Zed, like an amusing Hecarim attempt a few months back.

If the Zed in the 2v1 lane was farming like that, then the AD Carry and Support were misplaying the lane horribly.

  1. If he was farming with shurikens, the wave would have pushed against you because it's an AoE ability.
  2. At this point you have the ability to freeze the lane (by purely last-hitting minions) and deny the zed cs, or punish him (and possibly kill him) if he overextends to cs.
  3. You should be able to stay even on levels despite the fact that you (the Support and ADC) have to share cs is you deny him enough.
  4. Eventually you will have a substantial wave. At this point, hard shove the wave into the Zed's tower and either chunk it down, or dive the Zed depeding on if you have Jungle support and/or if the Zed is low enough to kill without running the risk of trading kills.

NOTE: Be sure to not let the Enemy minion wave get under your tower or the lane will reset.

The bandwagon is too strong.

Are we suddenly claiming that Zed is amazing at 2v1 just because we think he's OP? Inb4 Morgana 2v1 100 CS by 10 minutes.

Inb4 Anivia press R insta-clear minion wave 1v5.

Yeah, Zed's pretty strong, but quit bringing up this retarded anecdotal evidence just to hop on the QQ train

Most people can go 1v5 against beginner bots with any champ....is that a problem? He played better, he got rewarded, simple as that.

Zed is one of those champions that can 2v1 though. The list mostly consists of mages with wave clear; Kayle, Morgana, Syndra, Jayce, Lulu etc. These are all champions with high wave clear and split push potential. If I were making a teir list for 2v1's just based off what champions came to mind it would look something like this.

  1. Lulu, Kayle, Morgana
  2. Zed, Syndra, Jayce
  3. Ahri, Nidalee, Caitlyn

Obviously Zed is good at it but I wouldn't consider him the best.

Very few people often go into 1v2 or 2v1 lanes so they don't know what to do on either end. You likely just encountered someone who knew the 1v2 scenario, and didn't know how to correctly punish him.

I had a 1v2 as AP Kogmaw against Thresh + Jinx, and got a 1v2 kill onto the Jinx earlier this week. They weren't bad players, but they made severe laning mistakes on when to push, freeze, and roam.

you didn't punish him properly, especially if you were shoving him into turret. in a 2v1 lane you want to freeze the wave and force him to walk out to farm. the support stands in the bush and zones him from CSing and all ins him if he chooses to walk forward while the ADC positions in a location where they can follow up without missing their own farm. the zed should only be able to get 1/3 to 1/2 of the CS of your ADC if you do that.

Zed always gets his CS. It's stupid.

I mean i've gone 2v1 as AD Malzahar bot lane (i don't remember what i was against i think it was thresh support though)

I managed to win the lane and get a triple kill when both junglers ganked in a 2v3. That said it was normals and while i'm only ranked gold that took me about a week in S3, and 14 games this past season (free shit hype), so really i'm not sure where I rank at in the system.

We can consider one of his niche lel.

He despises weaklings, his passive is also Contempt for the Weak, minions are inferior beings.

That is the only thing he actually has compared to usual assassin with burst+dmg
