So the Maokai rework has been out long enough I think...

What's everyone's thoughts on it? Did it accomplish what Riot wanted or did it change very little about him?

compared to what he used to be, I enjoy the new mao kai. Old mao kai was pretty busted when he was strong or too weak when they nerfed him into the ground. His old ult was just aoe damage reduction which got out of control from time to time, I really enjoy his new ult and the interesting things you can do with it, like zone off objs and tower dive from fog of war, and the ult has some counter play if people position accordingly. overall i think they did a good job with the rework! The champion isn't too strong but certainly isnt weak. BTW who ever just down voted you for no reason at all is pretty lame, considering what you post...

They need to nerf his base damage a little and adjust some ability scaling and nerf the heal passive(its op, he isnt a kitable garen he has loads of cc and targeted root). Overall it flows well, would like to see the ult speed increased a bit at the cost of some of his damage. I play him often and he absolutely does too much damage for being a tank.

I think at first it was a little silly, people went full AP and just oneshotted people with loads of saplings in bushes. But with the basic nerfs and changes he's pretty well rounded. The ult is slow as anything so it's funny when you forget about that and cast it from too far away and watch and people just walk from it... and you walk past it also. :-P
