How do you deal with akali toplane?

As a top lane main, I can't seem to figure out how to deal with her. If I ever play aggressive she just farms with q and heals with passive when I can't be in range to retaliate. She can even trade evenly with me if i don't take long enough fights. On the other hand once she hits 6 I can't ever fight her because her damage output is massive even when I have a full mr tank item, in short fights or drawn out ones.

It just seems to me that she is imbalanced and unfair to play against for anyone who is melee since they can never beat her in a fight. She seems to do sustained damage, ranged damage, and burst damage while having stupid mobility, invisibility, and heals even before she builds gunblade.

(talon is similar, but he isn't nearly as bad for me for some reason.)

So how the hell do you lane against her, and if you cant why isn't she getting any attention?

Ask for jg ganks. pre6 she is super weak and vulnerable. But relying on your team sucks.

At level 6, back down. Most Akali will try to get in first kill at level 6. Deny them and just farm. Eventually item 3076 or item 3123 to stop her draintank.

But item 3123 is bad on tanks and item 3076 is bad against ap champs. Also pre 6 she still has a dash and invis which makes ganking her really hard. What do now?

She is mixed damage though. And in the end, you have to shut down that draintank so take your pick. You can item 3165 but I imagine that is even worse. Or summoner 14 which is poor later.

Her "dash" is super limited. Her cloak is annoying, but can be played around. in the end, the gank is not to kill (great if you do). The gank is to assert lane control and pressure. Your goal (kill is great) is to push her out of lane. Kind of like Nasus. You just want to shove her out, no cs, no xp. You are just trying to delay her and stop her from hitting her level/item spike. If you survive laning phase without any deaths, she is hopefully slow. If you have a cs lead, even better. You just want to delay her so when lanes breaks she is forced to keep farming while you can play other things.

It is a lot easier said than done. Other people may have better strategies.

Akali's sustain and ability to trigger her Q mark is tied to her basic attacks. Which means Bramble Vest should help significantly.

ornn seems like a good matchup imo, his w doesnt care about her cloak and a q-e combo is likely to cover a majority of the area as well. plus you know where to aim your ult. also build some health regen early on(raptors cloak maybe?") and her poke is pretty well nullified. try to be shielded when she e's, the other abilities arent super worth using your mana to try and block

But her cloak has a dash to get away from the w, similarly with q>e she has the dash to avoid it. Her q auto is also nothing to ignore because it can proc thunderlords and is essentially always up because of how long it lasts.
