Does anyone else think Augments would be better than Masteries?

Augments feel a lot like Talents from HotS, each one personalized for each individual Hero/Champion. This, I feel, would be a lot more interesting than Masteries, even if it'd probably be FAR too much work, as it'd be much better (albeit harder) to balance everyone based on their Augments rather than balance a universal Mastery system.

Just food for thought.

This would be a good idea, if it wasn't for the fact that there's so many champions in the game already.

I'd prefer neither.

It would be a lot harder to balance since they would have to balance so many augments for 150 champions in effectively 1 patch. Even during preseason, that would be too drastic of a change.

That would be an insane amount of work not just to implement but to continuously balance. It would be great but I doubt it is ever happening.

Implementing would be the hard part really because balancing would be way easier since you can directly nerf/buff a single champion's certain buildpath and none else is affected. Now buggs with possibly thousands of different Augment combinations interacting with each other every game is a whole different beast

I'm surprised the lot of you are saying it would be a hard thing to balance when Riot is suppose to be a million dollar company.
